S On the Watch screen, touch the video to display the video controls. Touch again
to pause.
S Browse in the Related videos tab or read comments in the Comments tab.
See “Discovering videos” on page 239.
S Touch the Full Screen button to watch in full-screen view. Touch is again to
return to the Watch screen.
You can also switch back and forth by double-tapping the screen.
In full-screen view, the System bar’s buttons and other features are reduced to
dim dots, to reduce distraction. The dots work like the features they replaced.
Touch an empty area of the System bar to restore it.
S Drag the scrubber to jump to a different part of the video.
S Touch the HQ icon to change whether you’re viewing a high-quality or regular-
quality version of the video.
You can set whether videos start in high or normal quality when you’re
connected to mobile data networks. See “Changing YouTube settings” on
page 248.
S Touch the CC icon to show closed captions in the language you want, or to hide
closed captions.
Closed captions are available for videos only if the video owner provided them.
You can change the caption size; see “Changing YouTube settings” on
page 248.
S Touch Back to stop playback and return to the videos list.
Sign into YouTube You can discover and watch YouTube videos without a YouTube account, but if you
want to comment on videos, add them to your Favorites, upload videos, or take
advantage of many other YouTube features, you must sign into your YouTube
account.
