Overview
Chapter 1
Google Apps Migration for Lotus Notes (GAMLN) is a native IBM Lotus Notes application that
lets you migrate Notes users and Mail-In databases to Google Apps. Migration includes mail,
calendars, personal contacts, and groups. You can also migrate data from a Lotus Notes
discussion database or document library to a Google Group. You install GAMLN on an IBM
Lotus Domino server running Microsoft Windows.
The following sections outline the general features of GAMLN, as well as functionality specific
to each type of content that you can migrate.
General Features
GAMLN provides the following general features to help simplify your Google Apps migration:
Unattended migration. Information is migrated to Google Apps by a set of scheduled
agents that run in the Migration Administration and Feeder databases.
Multiple methods of registration. You can register users/databases one at a time, by
server, via the Domino Directory, or by file import.
Provisioning. You can optionally provision Google Apps accounts, mailing lists, and
resources.
Incremental updates. Users can continue to work with their Notes mail during migration.
Event and exception logging for each user/database.
Invitations and notifications.
Mail Migration
GAMLN preserves your Lotus Notes mail throughout your migration, with support for
attachments and links to Notes documents, views, and databases.
