5.12 Pulse Load
In some applications the load current varies within a large range. The constant current circuit limits the output current. Some
peak loading exceeding the current limit can be obtained from the output capacitor. To stay within the specifications for the
output, the current limit should be set greater than the peak current expected or the supply may go into CC mode or
unregulated mode.
5.13 Reverse Current Load
An external source is not allowed to pump current into the supply. A reverse current loading may risk the loss of regulation
and the damage of the power supply.
5.14 Extending the output
The GOSSEN METRAWATT LABKON Series provides corresponding outputs, and enables the power supply to provide
voltages or currents greater than its rated maximum outputs with different connecting measures when needed.
Serial operation of two or more power supplies can obtain a higher voltage output than that available from a single supply.
Series-connected power supplies can be operated with one load across power supplies. The power supply has a related
internal protection function so that if operated in series with other power supplies, damage will not occur when the load is
short-circuited or the series-connected power supplies are not turned on simultaneously.
5.15 Reliability
Reliability of the power supply depends heavily on the ambient conditions, in which the humidity and temperature will affect
the reliability. The lower the ambient temperature, the better the reliability. When the power supply is in operation, an internal
fan installed in the rear of the power supply can keep the temperature of components low. To assist in cooling, please leave
some room at the sides and rear of the power supply.
