6.3 Autocirc pumps
If you are away from home for extended periods of time (2 weeks or more) you may choose to
turn the system off (slide the timer switch to the "Off" position) as there is no need to maintain
hot water in the supply line when no one is home to enjoy this convenience. When returning
home, prior to turning on the system, we recommend that you turn on the hot and cold
faucets/taps at the sink where the Autocirc system is installed until all air is purged from the
dormant system and the water flows smoothly from the faucets/taps. Then slide the timer switch
back to either the "On" or " " position.
6.4 Disassembly
Pumps are subject to wear. If the pump is blocked or grinding noises are audible, check the
pump and replace it if necessary.
Procedure:
• Disconnect the electrical supply lines to the pump.
• Close the valves on the suction and discharge sides of the pump (if no valves have been
installed, it may be necessary to drain the system).
• Loosen the screw ring and remove the motor. Residual water may leak out of the rotor cavity.
Prevent the electrical connection to the pump from getting wet.
• Check for any foreign object in the rotor cavity, if you find any, remove it.
• If necessary remove the rotor from the stator (check
Figure 3 on page 13 for reference), by
grasping the impeller blades and gently pulling straight up. Do not pull up on one side only
or push the rotor sideways.
• Check for wear marks on the rotor cavity and magnet surface. If there are many, the pump
has worn off and shall be replaced.
• If no issues are found, the rotor can be re-installed into the stator. Do not let the rotor drop
to the ceramic bearing, but lower it slowly, then spin the rotor with your fingers to ensure that
it turns freely.
• For reconnection/new pump installation follow the installation rules.
