Warnings
The following warnings are for the setup, use, maintenance, and repair of this equipment. The
exclamation point symbol alerts you to a general warning and the hazard symbols refer to
procedure-specific risks. When these symbols appear in the body of this manual or on warning
labels, refer back to these Warnings. Product-specific hazard symbols and warnings not
covered in this section may appear throughout the body of this manual where applicable.
FIRE AND EXPLOSION HAZARD (GROUNDING)
Some oil-based and flammable materials generate static electricity when sprayed. Static
electricity creates an explosion and fire risk. Your sprayer has a grounding cord that will conduct
the static electricity to a grounded electrical outlet. The sprayer and all objects in spray area
shall be properly grounded to protect against static discharge, sparks or shocks.
• Connect the grounding cord when spraying flammable or static producing oil-based
materials.
• If there is static sparking or if you feel a shock, stop spraying immediately and connect the
sprayer to a properly grounded electrical outlet with the ground wire provided.
GROUNDING INSTRUCTIONS
Move the sprayer away from the spray area to a non-hazardous location. Plug the ground wire
into the sprayer.
Unwind the ground wire from the spool and plug it into a properly grounded electrical outlet.
If the ground wire is not long enough to reach a grounded electrical outlet, a 3-wire grounded
extension cord may be used to reach a grounded outlet.
