IMPORTANT INFORMATION No car seat can guarantee protection from injury in every situation, but proper use helps reduce the risk of serious injury or death. WARNINGS - Prevent serious injury or death: Failure to follow these instructions and car seat labels can result in child striking the vehicle’s interior during a sudden stop or crash. Secure car seat with a vehicle seat belt or LATCH that is properly routed as shown in this manual. Select a suitable location for the car seat in your vehicle. Choose the correct mode of use for the car seat depending on your child’s size. Infants less than 20 lbs. (9.1 kg) must use this car seat rear-facing.
WARNINGS - Prevent serious injury or death (continued): If car seat is in a crash, it must be replaced. DO NOT use it again! A crash can cause unseen damage and using it again could result in serious injury or death. DO NOT use car seat if it is damaged or missing parts. DO NOT use accessories or parts other than those provided by Century or Graco. Their use could alter the performance of the car seat. Rear-facing car seat must be properly leveled: • Too reclined can result in injury or ejection.

WHAT IS LATCH? United States Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards have defined a new system for installing car seats in vehicles. The system is called LATCH. LATCH stands for: Lower Anchorage and Tether for CH ildren. Typical seat in a passenger vehicle. Other vehicle types may have different LATCH locations. Vehicle Top Tether Anchor Points LATCH System for Vehicles: LATCH in the vehicle consists of a top tether anchor point and two lower anchor points.
LATCH SYSTEM LATCH System: LATCH consists of a permanently attached lower anchorage belt and a top tether strap (Fig. a). ONLY use LATCH in a seating position recommended by vehicle manufacturer. Car Seat Top Tether Vehicle Top Tether Anchor Point Vehicle Lower Anchor Points (Fig.

VEHICLE SEAT BELTS WARNING Not all vehicle seat belts can be used with a car seat. The car seat must be held securely at all times by a lap belt (or lap belt portion of a lap/shoulder belt) that will not change length while driving. To provide the most secure installation of the car seat: • Read the vehicle owner’s manual regarding car seat installation and seat belt use with car seat. • Follow all instruction labels on vehicle seat belt and car seat.
VEHICLE SEAT BELTS (continued) c Belts Forward of Seat Crease Vehicle seat belts located forward of seat crease may not securely hold car seat. Check vehicle owner’s manual or see vehicle dealer for car seat installation requirements. • If approved for use with car seat, install car seat and check for secure installation by pulling car seat front to back. If car seat slides forward, DO NOT use these seat belts.
VEHICLE SEAT BELTS (continued) c Lap Belts - Manually Adjustable The locking latch plate on some seat belts may slip and loosen after being buckled on car seat if positioned at a certain angle. If this happens, flip latch plate over (fig. a) and re-buckle. Test installation again to see if this works. If not, move car seat to another seating position. Flip c Lap Belts - With Retractor Lap belts with retractors may or may not hold a car seat securely. (fig.

If belt slides freely through latch plate, a locking clip MUST be used (see Pg. 30 “Locking Clip” section). Pull Some combination lap/shoulder belts with sliding latch plates may be converted into an “automatic locking mode” that will allow use without a locking clip. Avoid serious injury or death: • Hold belts together and remove locking clip. • Failure to use locking clip where required will result in car seat not being securely held in place. • Shorten length of lap belt portion slightly by pulling belt through latch plate.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION c Tether Storage DO NOT anchor tether strap to the vehicle when using car seat rear-facing. Tether Hook Tether hook must be attached to car seat for rear-facing use or if vehicle is not equipped with tether anchors. For storage of tether hook: • Attach tether hook to back of car seat as shown. • Pull loose end of strap to remove any slack. • Roll loose end of strap up and secure with a rubber band.

Harness Straps Surface wash only with mild soap and damp cloth. • Periodically inspect and clean buckle to remove objects or debris that could prevent latching. If harness straps are frayed or heavily soiled, they MUST be replaced. Shell: Wipe with mild solution of soap and water. Avoid wetting labels.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION c Aircraft Use This car seat is certified for use on aircraft (see label on car seat). Contact airline about their policy. Use this car seat only on forward-facing aircraft seats. Install car seat on an aircraft the same way it is installed in a vehicle. c Second Hand Car Seat Century advises against loaning or passing along car seat.

Consulte el manual del propietario del vehículo o visite el concesionario del vehículo para informarse sobre los requisitos de instalación de los asientos de seguridad.
CINTURONES DE SEGURIDAD DEL VEHÍCULO (cont.) c Cinturones de regazo - ajustables manualmente La placa de cierre en algunos cinturones de seguridad se puede deslizar y soltar tras abrocharla al asiento de seguridad en ciertos ángulos. En este caso, de la vuelta a la placa de cierre (fig. a) y vuelva a abrocharlo. Compruebe la instalación de nuevo para ver si funciona. Si no, coloque el asiento de seguridad en otro asiento diferente.

Si el cinturón se desliza fácilmente por la placa de cierre, SE DEBE utilizar un clip de cierre (vea la sección "Clip de cierre" en la página 30). (fig. a) Algunos cinturones combinados de regazo / hombro con placas de cierre deslizantes se pueden convertir en el "modo de cierre automático" que permitirá utilizarlos sin clip de cierre.
CINTURONES DE SEGURIDAD DEL VEHÍCULO c Clip de cierre ADVERTENCIA Evite lesiones graves o la muerte: • No usar el clip de cierre cuando se requiere impide que el asiento quede bien sujeto. • Saque el clip de cierre de los cinturones de seguridad cuando no lo utilice con el asiento de seguridad. • NO use el clip de cierre para acortar la longitud del cinturón de seguridad.
INFORMACIÓN ADICIONAL c Almacenaje del anclaje NO conecte la correa de anclaje superior al vehículo al utilizar el asiento orientado hacia atrás. Gancho del anclaje El gancho del anclaje debe unirse al asiento de seguridad para el uso de orientación trasera o si el vehículo no viene equipado con los anclajes correspondientes. Para almacenar el gancho del anclaje: • Conecte el gancho del anclaje a la parte trasera del asiento de seguridad como se indica.
INFORMACIÓN ADICIONAL (continuación) c Cuidado y limpieza 1 2 Desenganche los ganchos en forma de "J" del armazón del asiento de seguridad. Desenganche las correas del arnés de la placa del arnés. 3 Tire las correas del arnés fuera de las ranuras del arnés. 4 5 Apriete el botón rojo para liberar las lengüetas. 2 5 (Parte trasera del asiento) 3 4 1 Para el sistema de arnés con 5 puntos: 1 6 • Desenganche el anclaje del arnés y saque las correas del arnés.
INFORMACIÓN ADICIONAL Las almohadillas del asiento y de la barra protectora: Se lavan a máquina por separado en el ciclo delicado y se secan al aire. Correas del arnés: Se lava la superficie solamente con un jabón suave y un paño mojado. Si las correas del arnés están deshilachadas o muy sucias, DEBEN reemplazarse. Póngase en contacto con las aerolíneas para obtener información sobre su política. Utilice este asiento solamente en asientos de aeronaves orientados hacia delante. Instale el asiento de seguridad en una aeronave de la misma manera que lo instaló en el vehículo.
