Section 14 - Transportation Information
Lithium metal batteries are classified as Class 9 Dangerous Goods in the United Nations Recommendation. In case
of transport, compliance with all the relevant UN regulations is required. Our battery and its shipping package
complies with the requirement of UN Manual of Test and Criteria, (see below section 2.).

All CR cells and batteries of Renata AG fulfil the conditions pursuant to the requirements for partly regulated
transportation.
Summary of Packing Instruction (IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations 57th Edition):
1. For all the lithium metal (button) cells, listed in Annex I the lithium content is not more than 0.3 g and for lithium metal
batteries the lithium content is not more than 0.3 g.
2. Each cell or battery of the type proven meet the requirements of each test in the UN Manual of Tests and Criteria, Part III,
subsection 38.3 (Edition 5) - (DGR 3.9.2.6).
3. Packing, marking, labeling and weight limitations must be observed as per technical guidelines of the respective
transport mode.
4. We declare herby, that our Lithium metal batteries (button cells) are not subjected as dangerous goods in the common
transport meaning. So they can be transported as non-dangerous goods under the mentioned technical guidelines of the
respective transport modes.
5. Only for all shipments by Airfreight, a dangerous goods declaration will accompany the shipment as per IATA dangerous
goods regulations.
Note I:
Lithium metal (button) cells and batteries are forbidden for transportation aboard passenger-carrying aircraft.
