Adjustments
To get full performance from your PD8070 Planter, you
need an understanding of all component operations.
Many provide adjustments for optimal field results.
Even if your planting conditions rarely change, some of
these items need periodic adjustment due to normal
wear.
Setting Material Rates
Rates are set separately for seed and fertilizer.
Seed rate is determined by:
1. consulting the seed rate charts,
2. installing the correct meter (and in the case of the
brush meter, the appropriate seed plate),
3. setting the transmission driver/driven sprocket
combinations, and
4. checking the rate.

Fertilizer rate is set by:
1. adjusting for the density of your material,
2. consulting the rate chart for the adjusted density,
3. setting the rate range at the augers in each hopper,
4. setting the transmission driver/driven sprocket
combinations, and
5. checking the rate.
