Use a retractable utility knife or box cutter. Start with a new blade and change the blade if the
mat begins to fray when you are cutting the mat.

Start the layout in the center of your room and install all the mats that do not need to be cut.
Center the layout in the middle of the room. When all the mats are installed that do not need to be cut,
then go ahead and start cutting the perimeter mats to fit up against the wall of your room - leave a 1/4"
gap for mat expansion. Remember to save the scraps as you may be able to use them again to fill
another gap in your room. For many layouts you can use one mat in two spaces if the space to fill up
against the wall is less than 10" wide.
Please note: When figuring square foot coverage - these mats will lose 3/8" per tile after interlocking
the tiles together.
