Tip: Some advanced woodworkers have found that they can virtually eliminate snipe by setting the outfeed table in the following manner: Perform Steps 1–6 above, then lower the outfeed table slightly so the knife/ insert lifts the straightedge slightly off the table. Place a ruler next to the straightedge and rotate the cutterhead clockwise, watching how far the knife/insert pulls the straightedge forward. The amount the straightedge moves should be only 5⁄32".
