WARNING Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities contains chemicals known to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm. Some examples of these chemicals are: • Lead from lead-based paints. • Crystalline silica from bricks, cement, and other masonry products. • Arsenic and chromium from chemically treated lumber. Your risk from these exposures varies, depending on how often you do this type of work.

SECTION 1: SAFETY For Your Own Safety, Read Instruction Manual Before Operating this Machine The purpose of safety symbols is to attract your attention to possible hazardous conditions. This manual uses a series of symbols and signal words which are intended to convey the level of importance of the safety messages. The progression of symbols is described below. Remember that safety messages by themselves do not eliminate danger and are not a substitute for proper accident prevention measures.
Safety Instructions for Machinery 7. ONLY ALLOW TRAINED AND PROPERLY SUPERVISED PERSONNEL TO OPERATE MACHINERY. Make sure operation instructions are safe and clearly understood. 8. KEEP CHILDREN AND VISITORS AWAY. Keep all children and visitors a safe distance from the work area. 9. MAKE WORKSHOP CHILD PROOF. Use padlocks, master switches, and remove start switch keys. 10. NEVER LEAVE WHEN MACHINE IS RUNNING.
Additional Safety for Hanging Air Filters 1. FILTER CAPABILITIES. DO NOT allow this air filter unit to operate in an environment that has volatile fumes from fuels, paints, pesticides, chemicals, smoke; and never operate in an environment that has particles of silica, metal, asbestos, or hazardous bacterium. This air filter unit is only designed to remove very fine wood particles from the air. It is not a dust collector. 6. MINIMIZING DUST EXPOSURE.
SECTION 2: CIRCUIT REQUIREMENTS 110V Operation Plug Type The Model G0572 is supplied with a 5-15 plug, similar to Figure 1. Serious personal injury could occur if you connect the machine to the power source before you have completed the set up process. DO NOT connect the machine to the power source until instructed to do so. Amperage Draw The 1⁄ 5 HP motor on the Model G0572 will draw the following amps on the highest setting: Motor Load ..............................................
Grounding Extension Cords In the event of an electrical short, grounding reduces the risk of electric shock by providing a path of least resistance to disperse electric current. This tool is equipped with a power cord that has a plug with an equipment-grounding prong. The outlet must be properly installed and grounded in accordance with all local codes and ordinances. We do not recommend using an extension cord with most equipment because the cord can generate heat that may cause fire or circuit damage.
SECTION 3: SET UP Set Up Safety This machine presents serious injury hazards to untrained users. Read through this entire manual to become familiar with the controls and operations before starting the machine! Wear safety glasses during the entire set up process! The Model G0572 is a heavy machine (64 lbs. shipping weight). DO NOT over-exert yourself while unpacking or moving your machine—get assistance.

Shop Preparation Machine Mobility The Model G0572 has a balanced fan and uses digital components that are sensitive to jarring. Move this air filter unit with care, and do not drop or handle it roughly. Operating Location Operating this air filter unit in the incorrect environment can cause an explosion or respiratory damage to you and others. Read safety instructions on Page 6 to verify that the filter capabilities will work in your environment.
Figure 5 shows an example of poor air circulation, where the air filter is placed too close to obstructions. In this situation, the velocity of the air is lost and circulation is diminished. Filter Capacity The G0572 Hanging Air Filter with Remote will recirculate the entire volume of air in a room measuring 25' X 25' X 8' approximately 12 times in one hour. We recommend that the volume of air in your room be recirculated at least 6-8 times every hour.
Dust System When used in conjunction with a dust collector system, the Model G0572 filter efficiently removes most fine wood particles in the air that many dust collectors cannot. Mounting Preparation It is very important that the hanging air filter be supported properly. Please use these guidelines when preparing to mount the unit: • For the sake of clarity, the face where the mounting eye bolts and flush mount flange brackets attach will be called the top throughout the manual.
Beginning Mounting You can install the air filter unit one of the following ways: • Table-Top Mount: Use the rubber feet and/or the flush mount flange brackets (see Figures 6 & 7) for a table-top application). • Hanging Mount: Use the eye bolts (see Figures 6 & 7) for a high ceiling application. Refer to Page 16. • Flush Mount: Use the flush mount flange brackets (see Figures 6 & 7) for a wall or low ceiling application. Refer to Page 17.
Flange Bracket Mounting Holes Rubber Feet Figure 8. Rubber feet correctly installed (Underside View). To make the unit operate at the optimum height of 7' from the floor, you can install the air filter unit in your shop by hanging it by chain, cable, or steel strapping. ONLY hang the air filter to load bearing ceiling studs or joists that can hold at least 100 lbs.
2. Remove the plug screw. Retain the screws, because if you remove the eye bolts for the flush mounting configuration, you must reinstall these screws to seal the air filter unit. (Figure 10). 2. Drill the bolt pattern to accept at least 1⁄4" lag bolts for studs; or use 1⁄4" nuts, bolts, and washers for mounting to supports. 4. Install the flat washers and the hex bolts to secure the flange brackets to the unit (Figure 14). 3. Position the flange bracket under the air filter unit lip at the mounting hole location (Figure 12). For permanent table-top mounting, use the lower-lip holes (Figure 13). SECTION 4: OPERATIONS Operation Safety Operations that generate large amounts of any kind of dust may warrant the use of a respirator even though the dust filter is running. The dust filter is not a substitute for a respirator! THIS DUST FILTER IS TO BE USED FOR WOOD DUST ONLY. DO NOT use this machine to filter toxic fumes or paint spray. DO NOT use this machine to dissipate smoke or fumes.
To operate the air filter unit, use the listed controls: To operate the remote control unit, use the listed controls: • OFF: Allows you to manually turn the air filter OFF. • OFF: Allows you to remotely shut the air filter OFF. • ON / SPEED: Allows you to turn the unit ON with the first push of the button, and for every additional push, the fan speed is cycled from LO, MID, and HI. Speed selection is indicated by a red LED light.
SECTION 6: MAINTENANCE Filters Filter Retainer Latch The amount of use has a direct bearing on when you must change the primary air filter and service the secondary air filter. To maintain optimal operation, checking the filters once a week in a small home shop is a good habit. Checking them once a day during heavy use will be important. Always wear a respirator when checking the filters. Figure 17. 5-Micron primary filter. ! Keep the air filter unit unplugged during all maintenance procedures.
