SECTION 1: SAFETY For Your Own Safety, Read Instruction Manual Before Operating this Equipment The purpose of safety symbols is to attract your attention to possible hazardous conditions. This manual uses a series of symbols and signal words which are intended to convey the level of importance of the safety messages. The progression of symbols is described below. Remember that safety messages by themselves do not eliminate danger and are not a substitute for proper accident prevention measures.
Safety Instructions for Power Tools 9. USE PROPER EXTENSION CORD. Make sure your extension cord is in good condition. Conductor size should be in accordance with the chart below. The amperage rating should be listed on the motor or tool nameplate. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage resulting in loss of power and overheating. Your extension cord must also contain a ground wire and plug pin. Always repair or replace extension cords if they become damaged.
Additional Safety for Double Air Filters 1. This DOUBLE AIR FILTER is to be used for wood dust collection only. DO NOT use this machine to filter toxic fumes or paint spray. DO NOT use this machine to dissipate smoke or fumes. 2. Unplug machine before removing filter. Removing the filters exposes the fan blade, which may cause serious injury if contacted while the machine is connected to its power source. 3.

Site Planning is diminished. The following is a list of things to keep in mind when determining the placement of the air filter: Site planning is an important step to maximize the effectiveness of the double air filter. Air circulation must be thought out and all obstructions in the air path considered. • Study your shop layout to determine the best location for the double air filter. Air flow that is obstructed will cause a short cycle effect producing unsatisfactory results.
Filter Capacity The G9956 Heavy-Duty Double Air Filter is designed to recirculate the entire volume of air in a 20' x 20' x 8' room approximately 26 times in one hour. For the best filtering effect, the volume in a room should be recirculated at least 6-8 times every hour. To calculate the recirculating rate for a given volume: Step 1. Calculate, how long it takes to circulate all the volume of air in a room with the double air filter; where W = Width, L = Length and H = Height of your room, in feet.
Test Run Hanging the Filter Before you install the model G9956, bench-test the unit to make sure it runs properly. 1. If the joists are covered by sheet rock, press board, paneling or other covering, use a stud finder to locate them, and mark their centers. 2. Pre-drill 1/4" pilot holes into the marks on the joists. This will make threading the lag eyebolts much easier and reduce the risk of splitting the joists. 3. Thread the eye bolts into the pilot holes. Be sure to thread the eye bolts at least 11/2" into the joists. 4. Measure the desired length of your chains from the eyebolts.
SECTION 5: OPERATIONS Operating this equipment creates the potential for flying debris to cause eye injury. Always wear safety glasses when operating equipment. Everyday glasses or reading glasses only have impact resistant lenses, they are not safety glasses. Be certain the safety glasses you wear meet the appropriate standards of the American National Standards Institute (ANSI). Figure 6. The air filter control panel. For remote control ON/OFF use: 1.

To toggle between fan speed and timer control functions, press the ON/HR button. To set the fan speed: 1. Press the ON/HR button once. The fan should start to run. —If one or more of the lower lights comes on, press the ON/HR again. 2. Increase the fan speed by pressing the increase button designated by the right hand pointer. 3.
SECTION 6: MAINTENANCE Cleaning the Filters To avoid personal injury, disconnect power to air filter when performing any adjustments, cleaning or maintenance. Use a respirator when cleaning or changing filters. Dust will become airborne creating a respiratory hazard. For safety, run the hanging air filter for at least 6 minutes while wearing the respirator after cleaning.
