UP Series 5 The Grundfos circulator pumps, Series UP(S), are specifically designed for heating systems. The pumps are also suitable for recirculation of hot domestic water and for circulation of liquid in cooling and airconditioning systems. Heating systems Common uses: • Boiler/hydronic • ground-source • radiant floor • hydronic and fan-coil • solar • heat recovery. Pump types with cast iron pump housing are generally used for pumping water or water/glycol mixtures in these closed-system applications.

UP Series Pumped liquids Maximum system pressure Depending on type, Grundfos circulator pumps are designed for the following liquids: • Potable water • non-potable water • water-glycol mixtures • chilled water • domestic hot water • softened water. If the circulator pump is used for a glycol mixture with a higher viscosity than that of water, the hydraulic performance of the pump will be reduced. Example: 50 % glycol at 68 °F (20 °C) means a viscosity of approx.

UP Series 5 The Grundfos variable-speed pump is another product with fully integrated control. The variable-speed controller requires a 0-10/2-10 VDC or 0-20/4-20 mA control signal, which is user-selectable. If desired, the manual-% dial allows the speed of the pump to be manually adjusted and set by the user. The speed of the pump may be manually adjusted anywhere from min. to 100 %, but once set, remains fixed at that speed. In addition, the pump speed may be set as 0-100 % or 15-100 % by user.

UP Series 5 Applications UP 10-16 Comfort PM, PM Auto Three operating modes The UP 10-16 pump is designed for recirculation of domestic hot water in single-family homes with dedicated hot-water return piping. Utilizing a low-noise permanent magnet motor, energy consumption is reduced to as little as 5 - 8.5 W. Selecting the Auto mode ensures that the pump runs only when required. The result is maximum comfort - no waiting for hot water plus decreased water and power consumption.
