GENERAL INFORMATION __________________ Special features of your digital recorder The DSR 4530 HDD digital receiver can receive and process all unencrypted digital channels. This digital receiver has a built-in digital receiver unit for satellite channels. The receiver unit converts the signals from digital satellite channels to provide outstanding audio and picture quality. Television programmes can be recorded on the integrated hard drive of the digital recorder.
SET-UP AND SAFETY ___________________________ °C °C 2h When setting up the digital receiver, make sure it is in a horizontal position and that the mains socket is easily accessible. ǵ DSR 4530 HDD ON/OFF This digital receiver is designed to receive, record and play back video and audio signals. Any other use is expressly prohibited. When setting up the digital recorder, remember that furniture is often coated with various types of varnish and plastic, which often contain chemical additives.

SETTINGS ______________________________________________ The menu This digital receiver has a very comprehensive, user-friendly menu system. The menu is displayed on the television screen. The digital receiver responds to many functions which you select on the remote control with informative menus and icons on the television screen. It enables you to select many different settings and it contains information on using your digital recorder.
SETTINGS ______________________________________________ Assigning presets The digital receiver is already preprogrammed with the following satellites: Astra 19.2° East, Eutelsat/Hot Bird 13° East, Turksat 1C, Sirius 2/3, Amos and Hellas Sat 2. SETTINGS ______________________________________________ Editing the channel list You can change the order of presets as required and delete stations you do not need. Edit Channel Lists Channel list 1 In the »Main Menu«, select »Channel lists« with »P+« or »P-« and confirm with »OK«. 2 Confirm the selection of »Channel list« with »OK«. – The channel list appears.

You can select your favourite stations and save them in up to four lists. SETTINGS ______________________________________________ Setting the local time To ensure that the TV guide always shows the current programmes at the right time, enter the difference between your local time and GMT (Greenwich Mean Time at longitude “0”). All times given by the TV guide are then converted to your local time. SETTINGS ______________________________________________ Adjusting the digital receiver to the television set Specifying the video signal at the Euro AV (TV) output Installation Menu language You can choose between the settings »FBAS« (normal picture quality), »RGB« (high picture quality) »Y/C« (S-Video signal) and »YUV« (component signal). The default setting is »RGB«.
SETTINGS ______________________________________________ Selecting picture conversion for the television If you have a 4:3 format television or flat screen, the following settings are available: »Pan&Scan« for wide-screen playback without black bars on the top and bottom edges of the screen. »Letterbox« for wide-screen playback with black bars on the top and bottom edges of the screen. 1 In the »Main Menu«, select »Installation« with »P-« or »P+« and press »OK« to confirm.
SETTINGS ______________________________________________ Adjusting the digital receiver to the LNB configuration of the satellite antenna The digital receiver has been factory set so that it is ready for operation, without time-consuming adjustment, with most satellite antennas and LNB configurations. Changes in this menu have a direct effect on the reception characteristics of the digital recorder and therefore should only be made by an expert.

TIME SHIFT FUNCTIONS _____________________ Time shift – watching a current television programme with a delay When you switch on the digital recorder, the current programme that you see on the television screen is recorded in the time shift memory. This is provided that the »Time shift« function has been activated in the »PVR Settings« menu. The time shift memory has space for approx. one hour of recordings.
TIME SHIFT FUNCTIONS _____________________ Pausing a live programme You can pause the programme you are watching. This is a useful function, for example, if the telephone rings while you are watching a film and you don’t want to miss anything. A freeze-frame display of the last scene appears on the screen and the programme is recorded in the time shift memory. Note: Changing to another preset ends the current recording and it is deleted.

TIMER RECORDINGS IN THE ARCHIVE Programming recordings – by adopting the data from the TV guide Notes: You can store television programmes in the archive of the digital receiver. A total of ten timer recordings are available. The time on the digitial receiver must be correct. The maximum recording time is 24 hours. TELETEXT MODE ___________________________________ Teletext Teletext is a service offered by some broadcasters which is provided along with the video and audio signals, is converted by the digital recorder and can be displayed on the TV screen. 1 Select the television station whose teletext pages you want to see. 2 Call up the teletext with »TXT«. – After a short time, teletext page 100 appears on the television screen. 3 Select the teletext page with »1…0« or the coloured buttons.

You can find out which satellite channels are preprogrammed when you open the TV lists for TV or RADIO by pressing »OK«. New satellite channels are frequently added or satellite data is changed.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS _________________ Manual station search If the station search does not find a particular station automatically, it can search for it using the manual search. To do this all the parameters for the station must be correctly entered. You can find the latest transponder information on the teletext pages of various broadcasters, in a current satellite TV magazine or on the Internet.
