1. Please read this user manual first! Dear Customer, Thank you for preferring an Grundig product. We hope that your product which has been manufactured with high quality and technology will give you the best results. We advise you to read through this manual and the other accompanying documentation carefully before using your product and keep it for future reference. If you transfer the product to someone else, give its manual as well.
2. Important instructions for safety and environment EN This section contains safety instructions that will help protect from risk of personal injury or property damage. Failure to follow these instructions shall void any warranty. 2.
2.1.1 Electrical safety Electrical safety instructions should be followed while electrical connection is made during the installation. A • Connect the dryer to a grounded outlet protected by a fuse at the value specified on the type label. Have the grounding installation performed by a qualified electrician. Our company shall not be liable for any damages that will arise when the dryer is used without grounding in accordance with the local regulations.
2.1.2 Product safety Superheating of the clothes inside of the dryer can occur if you cancel the programme or in the event of a power failure whilst the dryer is running, this concentration of heat can cause self-combustion and fire so always activate the ventilation programme to cool down or quickly remove all laundry from the dryer in order to hang them up and dissipate the heat.
• You must provide enough ventilation in order to prevent gases exiting from devices operating with other types of fuels including the naked flame from accumulating in the room due to the back fire effect. A C C Underwear that contains metal reinforcements should not be dried in the dryer. Dryer may be damaged if metal reinforcements come loose and break off during drying. Use softeners and similar products in accordance with the instructions of their manufacturers.
2.2 Mounting over a washing machine • A fixing device should be used between the two machines when installing the dryer above a washing machine. The fitting device must be installed by the authorized service agent. EN • Total weight of the washing machine and the dryer -with full loadwhen they are placed on top of each other reaches to approx. 180 kilograms. Place the products on a solid floor that has sufficient load carrying capacity! Washing machine cannot be placed on the dryer.
2.4 Child safety • Packaging materials are dangerous for the children. Keep packaging materials away from children. • Electrical products are dangerous for the children. Keep children away from the product when it is operating. Do not let them tamper with the dryer. Use the child-proof lock in order to prevent the children to tamper with the dryer. C Child-proof lock is on the control panel. (See Child lock) • Keep loading door closed even when the dryer is not in use. 2.

4. Installation Before the calling the nearest Authorized Service for the installation of the dryer, ensure that electrical installation and water drain is appropriate referring to the user's manual.(See 4.4 Connecting to the drain and 4.6 Electrical connection) If they are not suitable, contact a qualified electrician and technician to make necessary arrangements. C A A Preparation of the dryer's location as well as the electrical and waste water installations is under customer's responsibility.
4.4 Connecting to the drain A Check that no part of the transportation safety assembly remains inside the drum. 4.3 Under counter installation • This product can be installed under a counter if the height of the counter is sufficient. A While using undercounter dryer, it should never be operated without undercounter installation part. For the appropriate undercounter installation part contact the Authorized Service.
A C C Hose connection should be made in a safe manner. Your drain house will be flooded if the hose comes out of its housing during water discharge. Water drain hose should be attached to a height of maximum 80 cm. Make sure that the water drain hose is not stepped on and it is not folded between the drain and the machine. 4.5 Adjusting the feet In order to ensure that the dryer operates more silently and vibrationfree, it must stand level and balanced on its feet.
4.8 Warnings about sounds C C It is normal to hear a metallic noise from the compressor sometimes during operation. 4.9 Changing the illumination lamp EN In case an illumination lamp is used in your laundry dryer.To change the Bulb/LED used for illumination of your tumble dryer, call your Authorized Service. The lamp(s) used in this appliance is not suitable for household room illumination.
5. Preparation 5.1 Laundry suitable for drying in the dryer Always obey the instructions given on the garment tags. Dry only the laundry having a label stating that they are suitable for drying in a dryer and make sure that you select the appropriate programme.
• • • • • • Follow the instructions in the user manual for programme selection. Do not open the loading door of the machine during drying unless necessary. If you must certainly open the loading door, do not to keep it open for a long time. Do not add wet laundry while the dryer is in operation Clean the lint filter before or after each drying cycle. 6.3 Preparing the machine 1. Plug in the machine. 2. Place the laundry in the machine. 3. Press the On/off/cancel button for 1 second (long). 4. When your machine is operated for the first time, it starts with the default programme (wardrobe dryness for cottons). C Pressing the On/Off/ Cancel button does not necessarily mean the programme has started. Press Start/Pause button to start the programme. 6.4 Programme selection 1.
6.6 Additional programmes For special occasions, the following additional programmes are available: C Depending on the different device model, the additional programmes may vary. • Shirts This programme dries the shirts more sensitively and creases them less and thus, helps to iron them more easily. C There may be a little moisture on the shirts at the end of the programme. We recommend you not to leave the shirts in the dryer.
• Wool Protect Use this programme for drying wool fabrics and textiles such as sweaters, which have been washed according to their care label instructions. We recommend taking the laundry out of the device, once the programme is completed.

6.8 Express Dry This application is available for all programmes highlighted with dark colour on the control panel. For example in case of “wardrobe ready for cotton” the usual programme duration is 2:23, the ExpressDy feature reduces the required time to 1:55. Anti-creasing A 2-hour anti creasing programme to prevent laundry from creasing will be activated if you do not take the laundry out after the programme has come to an end.
Cleaning the filter drawer Warning symbol flashes with certain intervals to remind that the filter drawer needs to be cleaned. End Time Setting End Time Setting function allows you to delay the ending time of the programme up to 24 hours. 1. Open the loading door and put the laundry in. 2. Select the drying programme, spin speed and, if required, the auxiliary functions. 3. Press End Time Setting selection button to set the desired End Time Setting symbol lights up on the display.
6.11 Child Lock Machine is equipped with a Child Lock which prevents interfering with the current programme flow by pressing any button. All buttons except the On/Off/Cancel button on the control panel are deactivated when the Child Lock is active. In order to activate the Child Lock, press Audio Warning, Child Lock button for 3 seconds. To start a new programme after the current programme is over or to interrupt the current programme, the Child Lock should be deactivated.
C C You may repeat laundry adding or removing process as many times as you desire during drying. However, this process will increase the programme time and energy consumption since the drying process will be interrupted repeatedly. Therefore, it is recommended to add laundry before the drying programme has started. If you select a new programme by turning the Programme Selection knob while your machine is in Pause mode, then the current programme is aborted and new programme information is displayed.
7. Maintenance and cleaning • A layer can build up on the filter pores that can cause clogging of the filter after using the dryer for a while. Wash the lint filter with warm water to remove the layer that builds up on the lint filter surface. Dry the lint filter completely before reinstalling it. • Clean the entire inner surface of the loading door and loading door gasket with a soft damp cloth.
7.2 Cleaning the sensor There are dampness sensors in the dryer that detect whether the laundry is dry or not. To clean the sensors: Open the loading doorof the dryer. • Allow the machine to cool down if it is still hot due to the drying process. • Wipe the metal surfaces of the sensor with a soft cloth, dampened with vinegar and dry them. C C A Clean metal surfaces of the sensors 4 times a year. Do not use metal tools when cleaning metal surfaces of the sensors.
• Place the water tank into its seat. C • Open the filter drawer by pressing the red button. • Take out the filter drawer sponge. • Clean lint, fiber, and cotton raveling on the filter cloth by hand or with a soft piece of cloth. When you notice a layer that may lead clogging on the filter cloth, please clean the layer by washing in warm water. Let the filter cloth dry thoroughly before installing back the filter drawer.
• Place the sponge back into its place. • Close the filter drawer as to lock the red button. • Place the filter drawer back into its place, turn the filter drawer cover in the arrow direction and close it securely. • Close the kick plate cover. A C 32 Drying without the filter drawer sponge in place will damage the machine! A dirty lint filter and filter drawer will cause longer drying periods and higher energy consumption. 8. Troubleshooting EN Drying process takes too much time. • Pores of the lint filter are clogged. >>> Wash the lint filter with warm water. • Filter drawer is clogged. >>> Clean the sponge and the filter cloth in the filter drawer. • Ventilation grids on the front side of the machine are blocked. >>> Remove the objects (if any) that block ventilation in front of the ventilation grids. • Ventilation may not be sufficient since the room where the machine is installed is very small.
Programme is interrupted without any cause. • The loading door might not be closed securely. >>> Push the loading door to close until you hear a locking sound. • A power failure might have occurred. >>> Press Start / Pause button to start the programme. • Water tank may be full. >>> Drain the water tank. Laundry has shrunk, become felted or deteriorated. • A programme suitable for the laundry type might have not been used. >>> Check the garment tag and select a programme suitable for the fabric type.
9. Electrical Connection Make sure that you have an earthed power outlet socket rated at 13 amps (minimum). 9.1 Attention! When installed, the socket must be reachable after installation, or a separate switch (which can disconnect the two poles) must be used in the installation. Check for suitability. For a permanent connection, a master switch with at least 3mm contact clearance and minimum 13 A rating must be used. 9.
