Use the pruner on the mains with an undercurrent
protection switch (FI)!
Behavior in case of emergency
Perform necessary first aid measures according to the injury
and call for medical attendance as soon as possible.
Prevent the injured against any further injuries and calm him
down.
Intended use
Electric pole pruner Güde is intended for pruning/trimming of
the tree branches. Failure to observe the provisions of the
generally applicable regulations and the provisions of this
manual, the manufacturer can not be held responsible for any
damage made.
Unpacking
1. Remove the separate parts of the pruner from the outer
cardboard.
2. Check the parts for the damages from transportation. If
any damaged or defective parts are found out, advise the
dealer, from whom you bought the pruner.
Disposal
The hints over disposal result from the pictograms which are
applied on the product and the packing. A description of each
pictogram can be found in the chapter “markings on the
product“.
Requirements for the operator
The operator should have read the operating manual carefully
before using the product.
Qualification
Besides a detailed training through a skilled staff, no special
qualification for the use of the product is necessary.
Minimum age
The product may not be operated by people, who are less than
16 years old.
The use by young people forms an exception, if the operation
takes place during a vocational training to achieve the skill and
under supervision through a trainer.
Training
The use of the product requires only a corresponding training
through a skilled staff or on the basis of the operating manual.
A special training is not necessary.

Transport and storage
If the pruner is to be stored for a period above 30 days, steps
described below should be taken:
1. Empty the oil tank.
2. Remove and clean the guide bar and the chain. Clean the
guide bar and the chain by dipping it in kerosene solvent
or fine soap solution.
3. Dry the guide bar and the chain.
4. Put the chain in a tank filled with oil to prevent corrosion.
5. Apply a thin oil layer on the guide bar.
6. Wipe the pruner interiors with soft cloth wetted with fine
soap solution.
7. Store the pruner at an elevated locked place out of the
reach of children.
8. Store the pruner in a plastic bag at a dry place or put a
cover on the guide bar.
Terms and definitions
Guide Bar: A metal rail rising above the unit body. The guide
bar supports and guides the chain.
Backlash: A dangerous backlash may occur when the guide
bar tip top quadrant touches an object while the chain is
moving. The guide bar is suddenly shot up and then in the
direction of the operator
Oil Lubrication System: The guide bar and chain lubricating
system
Saw Chain (chain): A chain loop with saw teeth cutting the
wood. The chain is motor-driven. The chain leans against the
guide bar.
Sprocket wheel: a tooth gear driving the chain.
Switch: a device closing and opening the electrical circuit to
the saw motor.
Switch lock: A device to prevent switching when the unit is
unattended.
Starter: a device that will switch the unit on and off. The
pruner will switch on by pushing the starter, and off by tripping
it.
Limbing/Trimming /Pruning: Branch cutting procedure on a
standing tree.
Underhand Cut: a cut conducted from a lower part of the stem
or a branch. It shall be done cutting by the guide bar tip in a
regular cutting position.
Operation
Guide bar and saw chain installation
Warning: Chain cutting edges are sharp. Wear
protection gloves to handle the chain.
Important notice: For installation, fasten the
pruner in a vice.
1. Remove the sprocket wheel cover. (Fig. 5)
2. Fit the chain on the guide bar (mind the chain motion
direction Fig 9!)
3. Release the set screw (Fig. 4/B)
4. Pull the chain on the sprocket wheel and insert the guide
bar (the guide bar slit and hole should stay in alignment
with the guide bar screw and the set screw Fig. 6)
5. Install the cover (Fig. 7) and tighten slightly (Fig. 8) by
hand
Caution: Do not put the chain in the opposite
direction of running. If the chain is put likr that, the saw is
vibrating strongly and does not cut (Fig. 9)

1. Connect the unit and an extension cable. Plug the
extension cable in.
