Signs and Symptoms
: Breathing of high vapour concentrations may cause central
nervous system (CNS) depression resulting in dizziness, light-
headedness, headache, nausea and loss of coordination.
Continued inhalation may result in unconsciousness and death.
Skin irritation signs and symptoms may include a burning
sensation, redness, swelling, and/or blisters. Eye irritation signs
and symptoms may include a burning sensation, redness,
swelling, and/or blurred vision. If material enters lungs, signs
and symptoms may include coughing, choking, wheezing,
difficulty in breathing, chest congestion, shortness of breath,
and/or fever. The onset of respiratory symptoms may be
delayed for several hours after exposure. Visual system
disturbances may be evidenced by decreases in the ability to
discriminate between colours.
Aggravated Medical
Condition
: Pre-existing medical conditions of the following organ(s) or
organ system(s) may be aggravated by exposure to this
material: Skin. Eyes. Respiratory system. Central nervous
system (CNS).
Environmental Hazards
: No specific hazards under normal use conditions.
Additional Information
: Under normal conditions of use or in a foreseeable emergency,
this product meets the definition of a hazardous chemical when
evaluated according to the OSHA Hazard Communication
Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1200.
4. FIRST AID MEASURES
General Information
: Keep victim calm. Obtain medical treatment immediately.
Inhalation
: Remove to fresh air. If rapid recovery does not occur, transport
to nearest medical facility for additional treatment. Inhalation of
vapours require immediate medical attention.
Skin Contact
: If persistent irritation occurs, obtain medical attention. Remove
contaminated clothing. Immediately flush skin with large
amounts of water for at least 15 minutes, and follow by
washing with soap and water if available. If redness, swelling,
pain and/or blisters occur, transport to the nearest medical
facility for additional treatment.
Eye Contact
: If persistent irritation occurs, obtain medical attention.
Immediately flush eyes with large amounts of water for at least
15 minutes while holding eyelids open. Transport to the
nearest medical facility for additional treatment.
Ingestion
: If swallowed, do not induce vomiting: transport to nearest
medical facility for additional treatment. If vomiting occurs
spontaneously, keep head below hips to prevent aspiration.
Advice to Physician
: Treat symptomatically. Consult a Poison Control Centre for
guidance.
5. FIRE FIGHTING MEASURES
Clear fire area of all non-emergency personnel.
