Understanding Biometrics Biometrics are methods of authenticating the identity of a person based on physiological or behavioral characteristics. Biometric fingerprint authentication refers to technology that measure and analyzes human physical characteristics for identification and authentication purposes. Everyone is known to have their own unique individual fingerprints.
GETTING STARTED NOTE: Set your keys to the side. Don’t lock them inside the safe! Make sure to remove the backup key from the DrawerVault Biometric before use and secure them. The key is for emergency use only to unlock the case in the event of fingerprint failure. If the key is used to access the DrawerVault Biometric; it can only be removed from the lock cylinder by returning the key back to its original locked position. Please do not try to remove the key in any other position or this may cause damage.
ENROLLMENT OF THE ADMINISTRATOR FINGERPRINTS NOTE: The unit can store 120 fingerprints with the first two enrolled fingerprints assigned as administrators. If the Learn Button is pressed and the LED flashes red once and the unit beeps once the unit has reached its120 fingerprints maximum. NOTE: The unit requires the first or the second administrator’s fingerprint to be enrolled before adding additional fingerprints. Register the first two fingerprints as the administrator. Press the Learn Button.
ENROLLING ADDITIONAL USERS Press the Learn Button. You will hear one beep and the LED will turn green indicating the enrollment procedure has started. Swipe the administrator fingerprint from Position 1 to Position 2 (Figure C) and you will hear two beeps indicating the additional fingerprint is ready for enrollment. Place the new finger to enroll over the scanner with the tip of your finger at the top of the finger guide as shown in Figure B. Make sure you have good, flat contact with the scanner.
Key Access NOTE: Key Access is intended for backup use only. Insert the key into the front of the unit. Turn clockwise to unlock the unit. Lift the top of the DrawerVault Biometric to open. To remove the key, close the DrawerVault Biometric, turn the key counterclockwise. . DELETING USERS/RESETTING THE UNIT NOTE: Individual users cannot be deleted from the DrawerVault Biometric. All users will be deleted together.
Installation of Optional Security Cable Hint: A pair of needle-nosed pliers will be useful for installing the hitch pin. “Cut-outs” are provided on both sides of the Drawer Vault to permit attachment of the Security Cable. a) First, loop the end of the security cable through the eye and around a stationary object. b) Then, insert the threaded mount through the hole in the safe. c) Hold the mount in place while you slide the star washer over the threaded end inside the safe.
Limited Warranty 1. GunVault (the “Company”) warrants to the original consumer (the “Purchaser’) of any GunVault safe (the “GunVault safe”) purchased after January 1, 2014 against any damage caused by fire, burglary or attempted burglary for a period of five (5) years from the date of purchase. 2. The Company warrants to the purchaser that the GunVault safe will be free from defects in workmanship and materials for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase. 3.
