Introduction to Waveform
Search Function
In general, when implementing circuits designing and debugging,
engineers usually need to observe long streaming waveform. Digital
oscilloscope is usually the appropriate tool of observation. As the record
length of digital oscilloscope becomes deeper and deeper, capturing,
measuring and observing longer waveform data at single shot
acquisition become the biggest challenge during circuit testing.
It is time-consuming for searching the problems caused by circuit
interference because the infrequently appeared signals had taken place
under certain circumstances while continuously observing periodic or
random digital signals. However, the Waveform Search Function of
GDS-2000A can successfully solve the concerning issue.
After sending periodic or random signals into GDS-2000A
oscilloscope, then users can firstly press the “Search” button at the
upper-right hand side on the screen, then choose which type of trigger
condition and set threshold voltage according to their measurement.
Subsequently, the markers corresponding to trigger condition will
appear on the top of the screen. Then, the users can press the left/right
arrow button to search the events of interest.
Thus, the users can also select “Save All Markers” function at the
right-hand side of screen during circuit debugging. The markers will be
shown in white to indicate recorded positions. Engineers can repeatedly
compare the different waveforms captured by different triggering
conditions with one another, please refer to Figure 1.
