9.12 Changing Bag during Surgery
Bag change during surgeryIf a connected fluid monitoring unit is used, the device system recognizes a bag
change automatically. Brief fluctuations in the deficit calculation (< 10 s) may oc-
cur when a bag is replaced. The change is indicated with the message Bag
Change.
WARNING!
Touching the bags and the bag hooks as well as vibrations of the balancing sys-
tem should be avoided during surgery to prevent triggering a false detection of
the bag change and not negatively affect the accuracy of the deficit calculation.
WARNING!
The empty bags should remain on the hooks so that the measurement accuracy
is not diminished.
WARNING!
Bags should be changed quickly to avoid affecting the accuracy of the deficit cal-
culation.
9.13 Changing Container during Surgery
Container change during surgeryIf a connected fluid monitoring unit is used, the device system recognizes a con-
tainer change automatically. Brief fluctuations in the deficit calculation (< 10 s)
may occur when a container is replaced. The change is indicated with the mes-
sage Container change.
WARNING!
Touching the containers and their holders as well as vibrations of the balancing
system should be avoided during surgery to prevent triggering a false detection
of the container change and not negatively affect the accuracy of the deficit cal-
culation.
WARNING!
Containers should be changed quickly to avoid affecting the accuracy of the def-
icit calculation.
CAUTION!
Full containers must be replaced immediately without stopping surgery. If the
overflow protection of the containers is triggered, suction is stopped to prevent
the ingress of fluids.
