13/64
Down slope setting (0 to 10 sec)
Time needed to shift from welding current to minimum current. Avoids cracks and craters at the
end of welding.
Post-gas setting (3 to 20 sec)
This parameter determines the length of time in which gas is released after the arc has stopped.
It protects the weld pool and the electrode against oxidization whilst the metal is cooling after
welding.
Advice : Increase the time if the welding seems dark.
(For default setting : 25A=4sec. 50A=8sec. 75A=9sec. 100A=10sec. 125A=11sec.
150A=13sec).
n.b. : At any time, you can check your settings by a simple pressure on the parameter button, without
turning the wheel.
TIG Aluminium welding particularities (AC)
Balance principle
+
-
+
-
+
-
An alternative current is used to weld aluminium and its alloys. During the positive wave, oxidation is
broken (cleaning). During the negative wave, the electrode cools and the parts are welded (penetration).
By modifying the ratio between 2 alternatives through the balance adjustment, you choose either cleaning
or penetration.
Frequency principle
The frequency enables adjustment of the arc concentration.
The higher the frequency, the more concentrated the arc. The
lower the frequency, the wider the arc. In AC mode, the
frequency is manually adjusted. When using AC Easy mode,
this setting is automatically adjusted according to the diameter
of the electrode used and welding current. It is recommended
to use AC in Easy mode.
