APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS
Allow fresh concrete to thoroughly dry before applying H&C
CLEARPROTECT Solvent-Based Cure and Seal. When applied
to existing concrete, wait at least 24 hours after washing
surface or after rain before applying H&C CLEARPROTECT
Solvent-Based Cure and Seal. Air and concrete surface
temperatures should be above 50°F and below 90°F for 24
hours following application.
How to Apply: Stir thoroughly before and during application.
Do not shake or whip air into sealer, and do not reduce. Apply
evenly with a brush, roller, or pump up sprayer. If the surface
has corners or edges, coat those with a brush first to ensure
complete coverage. Then using a roller, evenly apply the first
coat to the rest of the surface, working in one direction.
Excessive rolling can cause bubbles to form. If bubbles form in
the dried film, back roll with xylene to lay the bubbles down. If
applying by pump up sprayer, back roll sealer immediately to
remove excess or ponding product, which will ensure an even
finish. Do not overapply.
If protecting decorative treatments, two thin coats of sealer
are recommended. The first coat should be tack free before a
second application is done (approx. 4 hours).
Additional Coats: For the best coverage on bare surfaces,
apply a second coat of H&C CLEARPROTECT Solvent-Based
Cure and Seal, working in the opposite direction of the first
coat. Allow a minimum of 4 hours dry time between coats.
SLIP RESISTANCE
Some surfaces such as inclined driveways, garages, steps and
patios may require a slip-resistant additive for safety. Add
H&C® SharkGrip® Slip-Resistant Additive to the final coat,
following label directions. This product should not be used in
place of a nonskid finish.
CLEANUP
Clean tools with H&C® D-100® Solvent or Xylene. Follow
solvent manufacturer’s safety instructions when using any
solvent cleaner. Use “waterless” hand cleaner to remove
dried material from skin.
MAINTENANCE
Surfaces coated with H&C CLEARPROTECT Solvent-Based
Cure and Seal are easily cleaned using a mixture of 3 parts
water to 1 part H&C CONCRETEREADY Cleaner Degreaser.
