Install a full ow

check valve to

prevent back ow

and increase pump

life.

Remove any

sediment, debris,

and or standing

water from the

sump basin.

Place the pump in

the sump basin and

attach the discharge

piping.

Be sure that the

pump is positioned

so that the oat

switch moves freely

without touching the

wall of the sump or

other obstructions.

Float switch

Check valve

Drill a 3/16 in. vent

hole in discharge

pipe below the sump

basin cover and

check valve. A water

stream will be visible

from this hole when

the pump runs.

Vent hole

Plug in pump and

restore electrical

power at the service

entrance.

Fill sump pit with

water to check

automatic switch

operation.

Grounded

outlet

Install a sump basin

cover. A cover will

prevent solid matter

from falling into the

sump basin, prevent

odors, and guard

against accidental

injury.
