INTRODUCTION

The Dual Compartment Recycle Bin and Trash Can is the easy way to separate

trash and recyclables. It uses patented invisible, harmless, infrared technology. As

your hand or debris approaches the can (about 6 inches/10 cm away) the infrared

sensor on the lid (Sensor Zone as shown on Picture 1) automatically opens the lid.

After your hand is withdrawn the lid will close automatically after 4 seconds. Lid will

remain open if debris or hand is within 6 inches of the infrared sensor zone. With

the new Reflx™ quick open technology, during Lid closing, it will instantly

open again if objects are detected in Sensor Zone. The lid technology provides

a silent and gentle open and close. There are 2 buttons on the front of each lid to

open and close the lid manually, as well as on/off switch on the back of the trash

can for powering the unit on and off.

The Dual Compartment Recycle Bin and Trash Can helps create a germ-free, odor-

free, automated environment. It is convenient to use and it is very hygienic. Other

Indicator Light (LED Light)

(1) The indicator light (PICTURE 1) flashes red once every 3 seconds in standby

mode.

(2) When lid is opened with the “Open” button, it flashes green every 3 seconds.

(3) When the batteries are nearly depleted, the indicator light flashes yellow/amber

once every 3 seconds.

ATTENTION

1. Do not submerge the lid in water as it houses the electronic control. You may

clean it with a lightly dampened cloth.

2. Clean the trash can body only with products safe for use on stainless steel.

3. Do not press or force the trashcan lid to close. Lid will close automatically

after your hand or debris is removed from sensor zone.

4. Replace batteries immediately when the indication light turns to

yellow/amber. This will ensure the lid continues to operate properly.

5. Avoid direct sunlight on the infrared sensor.

6. Ensure there is enough room to operate the trash can without blocking the

opening and closing of the lid.

7. Do not use a power adapter that is not authorized by halo

™

; it may result in

fire, electric shock, or injury.

8. Do not use power adapter at the same time to operate the trash can. It can

only be powered by one source at a time.

9. Automatic parts may not be suitable for small children or pets.

OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS

a. Open both Lid Covers and unlock the two latches (Picture 2) inside the two

sides of Lid Unit to remove Lid Unit. Open the cover of the battery compartment

located on the underside (Picture 2) and insert four “D” size batteries according

to the mark of “positive and negative poles”. Close the battery cover and put Lid

Unit onto the Can Body (Picture 1).

b. To lock Lid Unit on Can Body, open both Lid Covers and lock the two latches

(Picture 2).

c. Turn on the power switch on the back of Lid Unit (Picture 4). A red indicator light

will turn on for 3 seconds. It will then flash once every three seconds to indicate

the lid is in standby mode.

d. To open the lid, place your hand or any object approximately 6 inches above

the infrared Sensor on the front of each Lid Cover. The lid will remain open if it

detects objects within the Sensor Zone. It will close in 4 seconds after your

hand or object moves away. With the new Reflx™ quick open technology,

during Lid closing, it will instantly open again if objects are detected in

Sensor Zone.

e. If you press the open button (manual operation), the lid will open and remain

open for 5 minutes before closing automatically - unless you press the close

button. The Lid will then return to automatic mode.

HOW TO USE THE SMART RETAINER RING

1) Put garbage bag

inside the trash can

2) Lift up the retainer ring

and wrap the top of the

bag over it

3) Set the retainer ring

down to secure bag

Re-insert batteries or plug in AC adapter (DO NOT USE battery and AC adapter at the same time).
