The 5 RJ-45 ports on the back of the device support the Auto-MDI/MDI-X function. This means that the switch automatically recog-
nises whether an Ethernet or crossover cable is connected.
POWER Connection for the enclosed power supply unit
Connections 1-5: Network connections for connecting network devices.
4. Getting Started
Connecting the power supply
Connect the enclosed power supply unit to the mains supply (POWER) of the device and then connect the power supply unit to a
power outlet. Once you have done this, the POWER LED lights up.
Connecting network devices
Connect one end of the network cable to an RJ-45 port on the back of the device and connect the other end of the cable to the
network device that you wish to connect. This procedure is the same for all 5 ports/connections of the switch.
Please note that the network cable used must at least comply with category 5 (Cat. 5) requirements and the cable must not exceed
a maximum length of 100 meters between the switch and the network device.
If the network cable is connected on both ends and both devices (the switch and the network device) are switched on, the LNK/ACT
LED lights up green at the port number at which the network device is connected.
