Furniture
Washing – The furniture much like an automobile must be
cleaned periodically to remove dirt and airborne chemicals.
Wash with mild soap and water, then rinse thoroughly. Do
not use abrasive materials or strong detergents.
Protect The finish –
At least twice a year, preferably in the spring and fall, apply a quality
liquid wax to the clean dry surface. This is easily accomplished by using
spray furniture wax normally used for wood indoor furniture or a clear
automotive spray wax. The wax should be sprayed on and allowed to
“soak in”. After a reasonable amount of time, spray the frames with
water and wipe to remove any residue. It is strongly recommended
that the frames be inspected for chips or scratches that can occur
under normal usage.
The finish must be touched-up if the surface is damaged. Touch-up is
very easy. Should the furniture become scratched or chipped, apply a
rust inhibitor primer, such as Krylon or Rustoleum, before applying
touch-up to the blemished area.
Also note that furniture located around salt water, including salt water
pools, needs additional cleaning to remove materials that are
inherently destructive to out-door finishes. We recommend cleaning
your furniture on a weekly basis and applying wax once a month
during heavily used periods of the year.
Throw Pillows and Cushions:
Spot wash by sponging briskly with a solution of soap and warm water.
Rinse thoroughly with warm water and allow to air dry. Do not use
harsh cleaners or bleach.
