Assembly (continued) 3 Attaching the cylinder chamber wall 4 Attaching the cylinder chamber door □□ Hang the cylinder chamber door (E) on the hinges. □□ Using six of the bolts (AA) and nuts (BB), attach the cylinder chamber wall (D) to the cylinder chamber supports (B). □□ Ensure that the alignment is correct and tighten all bolts securely. □□ Finger tighten only at this stage. Assembly (continued) 5 Attaching the cylinder chamber top 6 Attaching the upper support pole □□ Attach the upper support pole (G) to the lower support pole (C) using three bolts (CC), three washers (DD) and three spring washers (GG). □□ Slide the cylinder chamber top (F) down over the lower support pole (C) as shown and secure to the cylinder chamber supports (B), using three bolts (AA) and three nuts (BB).
Assembly (continued) 7 Attaching the lantern 8 bottle Attaching the regulator and propane □□ Feed the hose down through the support pole (G) and secure the lantern (H) to the support pole (G) using four bolts (CC), washers (DD) and spring washers (GG). NOTE: THE CYLINDER MUST BE POSITIONED AS SHOWN IN THE PATIO HEATER CYLINDER CHAMBER TO PROVIDE VAPOR WITHDRAWAL. □□ Connect the lantern and hose (H) to the regulator (I) and secure tightly with the adjustable wrenches.
Assembly (continued) 9 Fitting the reflector handle 10 Assembling the reflector WARNING: While every precaution has been made in the manufacture of this product, care must be taken during assembly in case sharp edges are present. □□ Using the pre-fitted R-clip (1) and pin (2), secure the reflector handle (J) to the bracket as shown. □□ Loosely screw the side panels (L) together using twelve bolts (AA) and nuts (BB), overlapping as shown below.

Operation □□ The heater, when installed, must be electrically grounded in accordance with local codes or, in the absence of local codes, with the National Electrical Code, ANSI/NFPA 70, or the Canadian Electrical Code, CSA C22.1. □□ Certain materials or items, when stored under the heater, will be subjected to radiant heat and could be seriously damaged. □□ Inspect the visible portion of the hose before each use of the appliance.
Operation (continued) □□ Important - Make sure the gas bottle is placed level within the base. □□ Should you need to change the gas bottle, confirm the gas supply is turned off at the regulator or bottle / cylinder valve, and there are no sources of ignition (cigarettes, open flame, sparks, etc.) near before proceeding. □□ Inspect the gas hose to ensure it is free from any twisting or tension. The hose should hang freely with no bends, folds, or kinks that could obstruct free flow of gas.
Operation (continued) LEAK TESTING Your patio heater has been checked at all factory connections for leakage. To check the connection at the gas hose/regulator/cylinder: □□ Ensure you are in a well ventilated area. □□ Confirm all control knobs are in the off position. □□ Open the gas control valve on the bottle. □□ Check for leaks by brushing a solution of 50% water and 50% dish soap over the gas system joints, including all valve connections, hose connections and regulator connections.
Maintenance FLAME CHARACTERISTIC □□ The flame pattern at the burner mesh should be visually checked whenever the heater is operated. □□ Normally, the burner flame is blue with yellow flame at the top. The burner mesh will become red hot. □□ If flames extend beyond the surface of the burner mesh, or there is the phenomena of flame lift or light back, or a black spot is accumulating on the burner mesh or reflector, the heater should be turned off immediately.
