General Operating Instructions
1.
Plug the Drill into a grounded 120V electrical outlet.
2.
When drilling, hold the Drill securely using the
handles, or brace the Drill against a solid fixed
object in preparation for the sudden twisting action.
CAUTION!
Torque will cause the Drill to twist sharply.
Torque will cause the Drill to twist sharply.
Do
not
place any body parts between the Drill and the
object it is being braced against.
Hands or other body
parts that are in the direct path of the twisting action can
be pinched, crushed or broken. Minimize the chances of
a sudden twisting action
by: using the proper drill bit for
the job, using sharp drill bits, setting the Speed Switch
to the proper speed for type of material and its related
bit speed. Avoid knotty, warped or wet workpieces and
avoid nails or other hidden objects in the workpiece.
3.
Touch the Drill Bit lightly against the point
on the workpiece where the hole is to
be drilled and squeeze the Trigger.
4.
While the Drill is running, apply light pressure to
the Drill. Allow the tool to work at its own pace.
5.
After the Drill Bit cuts through the workpiece,
remove
it from the hole while the Drill is still running.
This prevents the drill bit from
becoming jammed in the hole.
6.
If the drill bit becomes stuck in the hole use the
Reverse Switch (69) to remove it. The Reverse
Switch is below the Trigger. Do not use the Reverse
Switch while the Drill is rotating. Doing so will
damage the internal gears of the Drill. Wait until
the Drill stops before using the Reverse Switch.
7.
To prevent accidents, turn off the tool and
disconnect its power supply after use. Clean, then
store the tool indoors out of children’s reach.
