ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is grounded. up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energizing power tools that have the switch on invites accidents. c. Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock. d. Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on.
with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired. 1. Hold Drill by insulated gripping surfaces when performing an operation where the Drill may contact hidden wiring or its own cord. Contact with a “live” wire will make exposed metal parts of the Drill “live” and shock the operator. 2. Maintain labels and nameplates on the tool. These carry important safety information. If unreadable or missing, contact Harbor Freight Tools for a replacement. 3. Avoid unintentional starting.
grounded. Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) should also be implemented – it prevents sustained electrical shock. 9. WARNING: Some dust created by power sanding, sawing, grinding, drilling, and other construction activities, contains chemicals known [to the State of California] to cause cancer, birth defects or other reproductive harm.
Save these instructions. Grounding To prevent electric shock and death from incorrect grounding wire connection: Check with a qualified electrician if you are in doubt as to whether the outlet is properly grounded. Do not modify the power cord plug provided with the tool. Never remove the grounding prong from the plug. Do not use the tool if the power cord or plug is damaged. If damaged, have it repaired by a service facility before use.
Extension Cords 1. Grounded tools require a three wire extension cord. Double Insulated tools can use either a two or three wire extension cord. 2. As the distance from the supply outlet increases, you must use a heavier gauge extension cord. Using extension cords with inadequately sized wire causes a serious drop in voltage, resulting in loss of power and possible tool damage. (See Table A.) 3. 4. 5. The smaller the gauge number of the wire, the greater the capacity of the cord.
