6 Operating
The device can be powered by batteries or rechargeable batteries if the device is not con‐
nected to the power supply via a USB cable.
Insert 2 x AAA batteries into the battery compartment on the bottom of the device. You can
use conventional AAA batteries or rechargeable AAA NiMH batteries.
You can charge rechargeable AAA NiMH batteries directly in the device. Activate the built-in
charging function only if you have inserted rechargeable batteries.
1. Insert two AAA NiMH batteries.
2. Connect the device to the power supply with the USB cable.
3. Press [ /CHG], hold down the button, and turn the device o and on again at the main
switch.

The charge mode for rechargeable batteries is activated. Charging stops automati‐
cally when the battery is fully charged (average charging time approx. 3 hours).
