1. Before using the calliper for the rst time, use a dry cloth to remove the thin
layer of oil that was applied as rust protection from the device. Then remove the
battery compartment cover and insert an SR44 battery into the battery com-
partment with the positive pole facing up. Put the battery compartment cover
back on.
2. To start an absolute measurement, rst switch the device on with the on / o
switch. Then close the measuring jaws and press the zero adjuster button to set
the counter to zero. The display shows 0.00, indicating that the zeroing has been
successfully completed. The device is now ready for use. For a dierential meas-
urement, rst move the slider to the desired starting position before setting the
measuring display to 0.00.
3. Use the outside measuring jaws to determine the outside dimensions of an
object. Use the inside measuring jaws to determine the inside dimensions of an
object. You can take a depth measurement using the rod extending out of the
beam.
4. You get the measurement result via the main dial or the display reading. To switch
between inches and millimetres, press the e key.
5. To lock the slide, hand-tighten the screw r.
6. When the measurement is nished, switch the device o with the on / o switch.
7. If you see confusing messages on the display or if it stays dark, the SR44 battery is
exhausted. Then replace it with a fresh battery of the same type.
