Getting Started Thank you for purchasing the iHome HDP-66 2.1 Speaker System for your iPhone/iPod. Designed specifically to work with your iPhone and iPod, this system provides high quality audio that invites your music to come out and play. Please read this instruction carefully before operating the HDP66 and keep it for future reference. Install Clock Backup Batteries The HPD66 uses 2 x AA batteries for backup to provide continuous alarm operation and clock settings in the event of a power failure.
Connecting AC Adaptor Plug the AC adaptor cable into the AC Adaptor Jack on the back of the unit and the other end into a standard 120V wall outlet. Using the Optional Remote Control Power Button turns unit OFF or Resets Alarm. Volume Buttons raise and lower volume on the unit. Pressing FWD/REW while iPod is docked will FWD/REV to next/previous track Pressing and holding FWD/REW while iPod is docked will scan forward/reverse within currently playing track.
Install/Replace the Remote Control Battery The remote control battery is already installed at the factory. When the remote control stops operating or its range seems reduced, it is time to replace the battery with a new one. 1. The battery door is located on the back end of the remote control. 2. Pull the battery door to release the battery door latch and take out the battery. 3. Insert a CR2032 battery, checking that the + and – sides of the battery matches the drawing inside the battery compartment.
Setting Up the HDP-66 Setting the Time 1. Depending on your location and whether or not Daylight Saving Time (DST) is in effect, set the DST Switch located on the back of the unit to +1 (adds an hour) or to -1 (subtracts an hour). 2. Press and hold the Time Set Button until the time flashes on the display. Press the min. and/or hour Button as needed to adjust to the correct time. Hold the hour or min button to advance the hour or minutes faster. 3. Remember to set the correct AM or PM time.
Docking and Charging your iPhone/iPod To dock your iPhone or iPod, gently place it over the 30 pin dock connector located on top of the unit. Place the Dock Support behind the iPhone/iPod and attach to unit with thumbscrew. Adjust support so it is snug against the iPhone/iPod and tighten the thumbscrew. While your iPhone/iPod is docked in the unit and the unit is connected to AC power, it recharges (until fully charged). Listening to iPhone/iPod 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6.
Listening to non-docking iPod or other portable audio devices You can play an MP3 player or other portable audio device through the HDP-66 via the Line-in Jack. 1. Plug one end of an audio patch cord (available at www.ihomeaudio.com) into the headphone or line-out jack on your device and the other end of the patch cord into the HDP-66 Line-in Jack, located on the back of the unit. 2. Press the Button to turn the HDP-66 on. 3. Turn on and play your device. 4. Press the and to adjust the system volume.
