3 Bluetooth
3.1 General information on Bluetooth
The Bluetooth® technology is used for connecting a mobile phone with the MIB GLOBAL head unit.
To control mobile over Bluetooth® a unique coupling process is necessary.
After ignition is switched on many Bluetooth® devices do an automatic reconnect, if there was already a
connection with this device established. For automatic reconnect the Bluetooth® functionality at the mobile
phone and the head unit needs to be activated and there must be no connection to any other device.
The MIB GLOBAL head unit supports different Bluetooth® Profiles:
Bluetooth® Hands-Free Profile (HFP):
If a mobile phone is connected over Bluetooth Hands free Profile (HFP) to the MIB GLOBAL unit, it can be
used as hands free kid.
Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP):
The Bluetooth® A2DP profile is for transmitting audio signals in stereo quality.
3.2 Connect external audio source via Bluetooth A2DP
Precondition: The Bluetooth® Audio Source need to support the A2DP profile.
Start Bluetooth® audio transmission
- Please switch on external Bluetooth® device (audio source). It need to be visible.
- Couple Bluetooth® audio source to MIB GLOBAL => see description below
- Depending on the BT device, the audio playback functionality has to be started manually.
When audio playback from the Bluetooth® audio source device is finished, the MIB GLOBAL unit remain in
Bluetooth® audio menu.
Control playback
Over the head unit you can also control external Bluetooth® devices. Therefore the external media player
need to support the AVRCP profile. If it is supported you can automatically start and stop the audio signal,
use the skip function and see the song title on the display.
Attention: Due to a large number of Bluetooth® devices it cannot be guaranteed that all described functions
work correctly!
3.3 Hands Free Kid over Bluetooth
Precondition: The mobile Phone needs to support the Bluetooth® Hands-Free-Profil (HFP).
Make a call over Bluetooth® hands free kid
As soon as the Bluetooth® connection to a mobile is established you can use the MIB GLOBAL unit as
hands free kid. The procedure how to establish a Bluetooth connection is described below.
