3.4 Bluetooth pairing process
To control a mobile phone over the MIB GLOBAL unit you first need to pair the two devices.
The pairing should not be done when driving a car!
Precondition
- Ignition is switched on
- No other Bluetooth devices are connected to mobile phone and headunit
- Bluetooth® functionality need to be switched on, Bluetooth® needs to be in „visible“ mode.
- Make sure, that mobile phone has no keylog
- During pairing process input over mobile keyboard is required.
Therefore mobile phone should be kept ready for this.
Start pairing process
- Push PHONE button.
- Press Function key „Find Phone“.
When the scan is complete, the name of found Bluetooth® devices appear on the screen.
- Chose device of list and go to “pairing device”.
The MIB GLOBAL unit and the mobile phone are now connected.
To complete the connection between the two devices, further input on the mobile phone may be required.
If necessary, please confirm the connection on the mobile phone.
Depending on the mobile phone:
- Enter the PIN-code - that is displayed on the screen on your mobile phone and confirm, or
- Compare PIN-code that is displayed on the MIB GLOBAL and on the mobile phone and confirm
that they have the same number.
If the pairing process was successfully, the PHONE status will be displayed and the MIB GLOBAL unit will
automatically start store the phone book and the call list of the mobile to the headunit. In some cases an
acknowledgment on the mobile may be required (depending on mobile phone). The duration of
downloading the phone book and call list depends on the amount of data.
Note:
Only one mobile phone can be simultaneously be connected to the MIB GLOBAL unit.
After switching ignition on the MIB GLOBAL tries to make an automatic reconnect to the last connected
mobile. If this is not available the unit tries to connect the next mobile from the list of paired devices.
