REMOTE CONTROL FUNCTIONS
IMPORTANTNOTE:TheAVR125'sremotemaybe
programmedtocontrolup to sevendevices,including
he AVR125. Beforeusingtheremote,rememberto
presstheInputSelectorButton_ hat corre-
spondsto theunityouwishto operate.Inaddition,the
AVR125'sremoteisshippedfromthefactoryto oper-
atetheAVR125 andmostrecentHarmanKardon
products.Theremoteisalsocapableof operatinga
widevarietyof otherproductsusingthecontrolcodes
thatarepartof theremote.Beforeusingtheremote
withotherproducts,followtheinstructionsonpages
27-30 to programthepropercodesfortheproducts
inyoursystem.
It isalsoimportantto rememberthatmanyof thebut-
tonsontheremotetakeondifferentfunctions,depend-
ingontheproductselectedusingtheDeviceControl
Selectors.Thedescriptionsshownhereprimarilydetail
thefunctionsoftheremotewhenit isusedtooperate
theAVR125. (Seepages31-32 for informationabout
alternatefunctionsfortheremote'sbuttons.)
0 PowerOff Button:Pressingthisbuttonturnsoff
(placesintheStandbymode)thedevicethatwaslast
selectedbypressingoneoftheInputSelectors4_t.
ToplacetheAVR125intheStandbymode,firstpress
theAVRSelectorButton_ andthenpressthis
button.
IRTransmitterWindow:Pointthiswindow
towardstheAVR125v_enpressingbuttonsonthe
remoteto makecertainthatinfraredcommandsare
properlyreceived.
ProgramIndicator:Thisthree-colorindicatoris
usedto guideyouthroughtheprocessof program-
mingtheremote.(Seepages27-30 for information
onprogrammingtheremote.)
0 PowerOn Button:Afterselectingadeviceby
pressingoneoftheInputSelectors4_t, pressthis
buttonto turnthedeviceon.ToturnontheAVR125,
presstheAVRSelectorButton_.
InputSelectors:Pressingoneofthesebuttons
willperformthreeactionsatthesametime.First,if the
AVR125 is notturnedon,thiswillpoweruptheunit.
Next,itwillselectthesourceshownonthebuttonas
theinputto theAVR125. Finally,itwillchangethe
remotecontrolsothatitcontrolsthedeviceselected.
Afterpressingoneofthesebuttonsyou mustpress
theAVRSelectorButton_ againto operatethe
AVR125'sfunctionswiththeremote.
AVRSelector:Pressingthisbuttonwillswitchthe
remotesothatitwilloperatetheAVR125'sfunctions.If
theAVR125 isintheStandbymode,itwillalsoturnthe
AVR125on.
0 AM/FMTunerSelect:Pressthisbuttonto select
theAVR125'stunerasthe listeningchoice.Pressing
thisbuttonwhenthetunerisalreadyin usewillswitch
betweentheAMandFMbands.
Q TestButton:Pressthisbuttonto beginthe
sequenceusedto calibratetheAVR125'soutputlevels.

SleepButton:Pressthisbuttonto placetheunit
intheSleepmode.Afterthetimeshowninthedisplay,
theAVR125 willautomaticallygo intotheStandby

ChannelSelectButton:Thisbuttonisusedto
starttheprocessofsettingtheAVR125'soLMutlevelsto
anexternalsource.Oncethisbuttonis pressed,usethe

adjusted,thenpresstheSetButton_, followedby
theA/• Buttonsqi_)qi_l again,tochangethelevel

A Button:Thismultipurposebuttonisusedto
changeconfigurationsettingssuchasoutputlevels.
Whenchangingan itemsuchasthesurroundmodeor

tuning.Inautomatictuningmode,theAUTOIndicator
[] willbelit,andonlystationswithacceptablesignal
qualitymaybetunedbypressingtheTuningUp/
Down Buttons[_Jql_h Whenthebuttonis pressed
sothattheAUTOIndicator[] goesout,manual
tuningmodeis engaged,andpressingtheTuning
Buttons_}P[_ willmovethefrequencyupordown
insingle-stepincrements.WhentheFMbandisin
use,pressingthisbuttonwhena station'ssignalis

DirectButton:Whenthetunerisinuse,press
thisbuttontostartthesequencefordirectentryof a
