Setting the SystemConfiguration
Memories
TheAVR220 featuresanadvancedmemory
systemthat enablesyouto establishdifferent
configurationsfor the bassmanagement,digital
input, surroundmode,delaytimes,crossover
frequencyand output levelsfor eachinput
source.Thisflexibility enablesyou to
custom-tailorthe way in which youlistento
eachsourceand havetheAVR220 memorize
thosesettings.Thismeans,for example,that
you mayusedifferentoutput levelsor trimsfor
differentsources,or set differentspeakercon-
figurationswith the resultantchangesto the
bassmanagementsystem.Oncethesesettings
are made,theywill automaticallybe recalled
wheneveryouselectthat input.
Thefactorydefaultsettingsfor theAVR220
haveall inputs configuredfor ananalogsource,
Stereoas the surroundmode,all speaker
positionssetto "Small,"and a subwoofer
connected.Beforeusingthe unit, you will
probablywantto changethe settingsfor most
inputsso that theyare properlyconfiguredto
reflectthe useof digital or analoginputs,the
typeof speakersinstalledandthe surround
modespecifics.Rememberthat sincethe
AVR220 memorizesthe settingsfor eachinput
individually,youwill needto makethese
adjustmentsfor eachinput used.However,once
theyare made,furtheradjustmentis only
requiredwhensystemcomponentsare
changed.
Tomakethis processasquick and aseasyas
possible,we suggestthat you usethe fulI-OSD
systemwith the on-screenmenus,and step
througheachinput. Onceyouhavecompleted
the settingsfor the first input, manysettings
maybe duplicatedfor the remaininginputs. It is
also a goodideato set the configurationdata
in the order theseitemsare listedin the
MASTER MENU, assomesettingsrequirea
specificentryin a prior menuitem. Remember
that oncethe settingsare madefor one input,
they mustbemadefor all other input sources
in yoursystem.
