TurnOn Volume Level
Asis the casewith mostaudio/videoreceivers,
whenthe AVR220 isturnedon, it will always
returnto the volumesetting in effectwhen the
unit wasturnedoff. However,you maypreferto
alwayshavetheAVR220 turn onat a specific
setting,regardlessofwhat was last in use
whenthe unitwasturned off.Tochangethe
defaultconditionsothat the samevolumelevel
salwaysusedat turn-on,you will needto
makeanadjustmentinthe ADVANCED
SE L E CT menu.Tostart the adjustment,
_ressthe OSD Button _ to bring the
MASTER MENU (FigureI) to the screen.
Pressthe Button _ until the on-screen
cursoris nextto the ADVANCED line.Press

Tochangethe brightnesssetting,at the

lighted,all ofthe indicatorsin the Main

menu,the turn-on volumedefaultwill remainin
effect until it ischangedor turnec off in this
menu,evenwhenthe unit isturned off.

Semi-OSD Settings
Thesemi-OSDsystemplacesone-linemessages
at the lowerthird of the video displayscreen
whenevertheVolume,InputSource,Surround
modeor tunerfrequencyof any of the configu-
rationsettingsischanged.Thesemi-OSDsys-
tem is helpfulin that it enablesyouto have
feedbackon anycontrolchangesor remote
commandsusingthe videodisplaywhen it is
difficultto viewthe front-paneldisplays.
However,you mayoccasionallypreferto turn
thesedisplaysoff for a particularlisteningses-
sion.Youmayalsowant to adjustthe lengthof
timethe displaysremainonthe screen.Bothof
thoseoptions are possiblewith theAVR220.
Atthe ADVANCED SELECT menumake
certainthat the on-screen cursoris nextto
the VOLUME DEFAULT line by pressing
the AI• Buttons (_)qi_l asneeded.Next,
aressthe Button _ sothat the word 0 N
s highlightecin the videodisplay.Next,press
the Button so that theon-screen cursor
s nextto the DEFAULT VOL SET line.
