WARNING:
Makesuretoinsertthedrillbitstraightintothechuck
jaws.Do notinsert the drillbit intothe chuckjaws at
anangle,thentighten.Thiscouldcausethedrillbitto
be thrown from the drill, resulting in possible serious
personalinjuryordamagetothechuck.
Rotatethechucksleevetocloseandtightenthechuck
jaws.
WARNING:
Donotholdthechucksleevewithonehandandusethe
powerofthedrilltotightenthechuckjawsonthedrill
bit.Thechucksleeve couldslipinyour hand,oryour
handcouldslipandcomeincontactwiththerotating
drillbit.Thiscouldcauseanaccidentresultinginserious
personalinjury.
To remove bits, lock the switch trigger and openthe
chuckjaws.
Thebitprovidedwiththedrillcanbeplacedinthestorage
area,locatedonthebaseofthedrill.
TWO-SPEED GEAR TRAIN
See Figure 5, page 9.
Select lowspeed(1)forapplicationssuchasdrillingin
metal,andforapplicationsrequiringhighertorque,such
asdrivinglargescrews.
Select high speed(2)forfastdrillingordrivingapplications,
suchasdrillinginwoodormasonry.
NOTICE:
Neverchangespeedswhilethetoolisrunning.Failure
toobeythiscautioncouldresultinseriousdamageto
thedrill.
NOTE: If you have difficulty changing from one speed
rangetotheother,turnthechuckbyhanduntilthegears
engage.
ADJUSTING TORQUE

Rotatetheadjustmentringtothepropertorquesettingfor
thetypeofmaterialandsizeofscrewyouareusing.
• 1-4 Fordrivingsmallscrews
• 5-8 Fordrivingscrewsintosoftmaterial
• 9-12 Fordrivingscrewsintosoftandhard
materials
• 13-16 Fordrivingscrewsintohardwood
• 17-23 Fordrivinglargescrews
• Forheavydrilling
VARIABLE SPEED SWITCH TRIGGER
See Figure 2, page 9.
Thevariablespeedswitchtriggerdelivershigherspeedwith
increasedtriggerpressureandlowerspeedwithdecreased
triggerpressure.
ToturnthedrillON,depresstheswitchtrigger.Toturnit
OFF,releasetheswitchtriggerandallowthechucktocome
toacompletestop.
TheLEDlight,locatedonthebaseofthedrill,willturnon
whentheswitchtriggerisdepressed.
NOTE: Awhistlingorringingnoisecomingfromtheswitch
duringuseisanormalpartoftheswitchfunction.
NOTE: Runningatlowspeedsunderconstantusagemay
causethedrilltobecomeoverheated.Ifthisoccurs,cool
thedrillbyrunningitwithoutaloadandatfullspeed.
DIRECTION OF ROTATION SELECTOR
(FORWARD/REVERSE/CENTER LOCK)

Set the direction of rotation selector in the OFF (center
lock)positiontolocktheswitchtriggerandhelpprevent
accidentalstartingwhennotinuse.
Positionthedirectionofrotationselectortotheleftofthe
switchtriggerforforwarddrilling.Positiontheselectorto
therightoftheswitchtriggertoreversethedirection.
NOTE: Thedrillwillnotrununlessthedirectionofrotation
selectorispushedfullytotheleftorright.
NOTICE:
To prevent gear damage, always allow the chuck to
cometoacompletestopbeforechangingthedirection
of rotation.
WARNING:
Battery tools are always in operating condition. Lock
the switch when not in use or carrying at your side,
wheninstallingorremovingthebatterypack,andwhen
installingorremovingbits.
INSTALLING/REMOVING BITS

Thearrowsonthekeylesschuckindicatewhichdirection
torotatethechucksleevetotightenorreleasethedrillbit.
Donotuseawrenchtotightenorloosenthechuckjaws.
To install bits, lock the switch trigger.
Openorclosethechuckjawsuntiltheopeningisslightly
largerthanthebitsizeyouintendtouse.
Raisethefrontofthedrillslightlyandinsertthedrillbit.
