Introduction
Congratulations on your purchase of the Solid Wood Ladder Toss Set. Ladder ball is a great game for teenagers and
adults alike. It is easy to set up and can be played anywhere there is an open area or eld. Take a moment to read all
of the following information and warnings. Then be ready to enjoy hours of fun with your friends and family.
Game Rules
Begin by placing the assembled game ladders 15 feet apart, facing each other in an open area
or eld. Ladder Ball is a 2 to 4 person game. If playing with two plyers, then both players begin
the game on the same side, changing sides together after each round. If playing as a team, one
member of each team is positioned across from one another on separate sides. Each round, players
will take turns throwing the bolas, 2 golf balls attached by a nylon rope, and attempting to wrap them securely around the game ladder.
Points are scored when a bola is thrown across the play area onto the game ladder and the bola remains suspended on one level of the
game ladder. The object of the game is to score exactly 21 points, without going over. Wrapping the bola on the top level scores 3 points,
on the middle level scores 2 points, and on the bottom level scores 1 point. BEWARE: Points can be cancelled when an opposing player
wraps their bola around the same level as you during the same round. If each side has one bola on the same level, no points are scored at
that level. However, if there are any additional bolas for either side, those points will be counted.
Bonus Points:
Bonus points are available and are never subject to cancelation. One extra point is earned if one side is able to land three bolas on the
same level or one bola on each level during one round. Normal scoring and cancelation rules apply to all other points except for the one
additional bonus point.
Going First:
Determine who goes rst by having opposition players throw one bola across the game area in an attempt to score. The highest points
scored on that throw, or the rst to score (taking turns), will dictate who begins the game. Points scored during this initiation throw do
not count towards your nal score. During the game, begin each round with the side that scored the least amount of points during the
previous round. Use the same throwing order as the previous round in the event of a tie.
Special Considerations:
Remember, 21 points exactly is required to win. This includes bonus points. In the event a team goes over 21, they are required to go
back to the score they began with for that round. Also, if a bola contacts the ground at any point during a throw, the points will not
count (i.e. players may not bounce or skip the bola o the ground during a throw).
