Dear Customer, Congratulations with your new DVD-recorder. With this high-tech recorder you have one of the most developed DVD-recorders which is on the market today. By it’s slim design, smart interface and great technic is this DVD-recorder easy to use for everybody. As a normal DVD player you can enjoy the accurate images and bright sound.

Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
CONNECTING TO TV SET. When shipping the player, the original shipping carton and packing comes in handy. For maximum protection, re-pack the unit as it was originally packed at the factory. It is normal for your changer tray to partially open after you have unpacked the unit. This is a feature designed to allow easier access to disc inside the tray during diagnostics.
INTRODUCTION SELECT THE DISC TYPE This recorder can record on both DVD+R and DVD+RW type of disc. When you want to record repeatedly on the same disc, select DVD+RW type. The disc can be re-recorded for more than 1000 times. When you want to save recordings without any alteration, a non-rewritable DVD+R can be your choice. DIGITAL RECORDING Video is recorded in a DVD+R/+RW disc in digital way.

CONNECTING TO TV SET. In order to let the recorder work properly, connecting the recorder to TV set with aerial cable and one of the following video cable is necessary. (! Please keep the equipment off during connection.) Connections 1 & 2 are necessary for TV and recorder to receive TV signal. Unlike conventional VCR machine, the recorder will not output its "own" signal via the aerial cable. So, it's normal that you cannot view the recorder signal from any of the spare TV channels.
CONNECTING TO EXTERNAL AMPLIFIER If you have got an external amplifier, you can connect the DVD recorder to the amplifier with reference to the below connections. (! Please keep the equipment off during connection.) Connect either one of the below amplifier: 1. To connect a stereo amplifier, connecting the player's audio out L ( left ) and R ( right ) to the stereo amplifier's audio input left and right. 2. To connect a 5.1 channel amplifier, connecting the player's 5.
CONNECTING TO EXTERNAL AV DEVICES If you have got an any external AV device such as DVD player, VCD player or digital camcorder, you can connect the DVD recorder to the equipments with reference to the below connections. (Please keep the equipment off during connection.) Notes: 1. To copy digital camcorder recordings, you can use the front jacks. These jacks are located behind the flap on the left hand side 2.
GENERAL SETUP: The essential setups enable your recorder to work properly. It's highly recommended to follow the essential setup after finishing connections. S YS TE M S E TUP -TUNE R Auto scan channels Enter this menu to Scan TV channels automatically. 1 Ensure no disc in the loader. 2 Press "Setup" button, SETUP menu appears. 3 Highlight the TUNER menu icon and press "ENTER " button to enter the TUNER Setup Menu. 4 Press "Up" or "Down" button to highlight the Scan channels, press "ENTER " to start searching TV channel. 5 When the searching is completed, press "Setup" button to quit.
PLAYABLE DISC TYPE With this DVD recorder you can play back the following disc types: • DVD VIDEO • SUPER VIDEO CD • DVD+RW • DVD+R • DVD-RW • DVD-R • CD-R • CD-RW • AUDIO CD • MP3 CD • JPEG • KODAK PICTURE CD INSERTING A DISC 1 Press the "OPEN/CLOSE" button on the front of the DVD recorder or remote control. The disc tray opens. The dialog box shows "OPEN" icon. 2 Insert the disc carefully into the tray, with the label facing up and press "PLAY" button or "OPEN/CLOSE" button.
RECORDING WITHOUT AUTOMATIC STOP • Press button to power on the recorder. • Turn on the TV, and switch the input selector on your TV so that the signal from the recorder appears on the TV screen . • Press eject button, and place a DVD+R or DVD+RW disc on the disc tray. • Press eject button to close the disc tray. • Switch the DVD recorder to the desired inputs sources by pressing the "Source" button. For recording TV channels, press "CHANNEL+", "CHANNEL- " or numeric keys to select the desired channels.
TIMER RECORDING Use programmed recording (TIMER) to automatically start and stop a recording at a later time or date. The DVD recorder will switch to the right program number and begin recording at the correct time. With this DVD recorder, you can pre-program up to 6 recordings within a period of one month.
EDITING RECORDING When a recording is made to disc, the following additional information is also stored at the beginning of the recording: • Name of the recording: If the TV station does not transmit a name, only the channel number and time will be stored as the name • Length of the recording • Record type (Quality) • Date of the recording • Index picture of the recording 1 Editing recording title (name): Some TV stations transmit the title (name) of a programme.
EDITING DISC 1 Changing the disc name, In the disc setting menu, select the "Rename disc" option and press " ENTER " button. 2 Erasing DVD+RW discs, In the disc setting menu, select the "Erase disc" option and press " ENTER " button.. 3 Preventing accidental erasing of discs, To ensure you don't accidental delete a recording you can protect the entire disc. You can only ever protect the entire disc. You cannot protect individual recording.
USER PREFERENCES In this section you will learn how to set your preferences on the DVD recorder. The symbols have the following meanings: General settings Playback settings Record settings Language settings Tuner settings Clock Settings 1 Various features of the recorder can be adjusted in SETUP Menu: • Power on the TV and DVD recorder. • Switch the TV to the corresponding AV channel of the DVD recorder. • Ensure no disc in the loader. • Press "Setup" button, SETUP menu appears.
RECORD SETTINGS Auto chapter markers - Default quality - This item is to set the automatic chapter marker insertions during recording.(During recording, chapter marker will be inserted into a title automatically by every 5 ~6 minutes.) This item is to setup the default recording quality. - This item is to search and save TV channels automatically. This item is to fine tune and modify existing TV channels. This item is to sort TV channel to your favourite order.
TROUBLESHOOTING Symptom No Power Check and Action Check if the power cord has been properly connected to the power outlet. Check if the main power has been switched on. Does not play No disc, load a disc. Disc has been loaded upside down. Place the disc with the label side up. Disc's region code does not match to the player. Disc is not correct type for the player. Disc is damaged or dirty, clean the disc or try another disc. There may be moisture condensation inside the player.
