CARE AND MAINTENANCE
• Keep the area around the log set clean and clear of debris.
• Occasionally, you may use a soft bristle brush to clean logs.
• Once every year a qualied agency or certied chimney sweep should examine and clean
the venting system of the replace.

Purchase these replace accessories from your local dealer. If they can not supply these
accessories, contact customer service department for information.
EQUIPMENT SHUTOFF VALVE
For all models. Equipment shuto󰀨 valve with
1/8" NPT tap. Fits 1/2" NPT pipe.
NVDWA2 - ON/OFF SAFETY PILOT
VALVE KIT
For all models. Required for propane
installation.
PILOT FLAME PATTERN

Figure 11 shows a correct and incorrect pi-
lot ame patterns. The incorrect pilot ame
is not touching the thermocouple. This will
cause the thermocouple to cool, which
shuts the replace o󰀨. There should not be
excessive ames present under pilot shield.
If unit has been converted to propane gas
and the pilot injector orice has not been
replaced, there will be excessive pilot
ames. Install propane injector orice if this
is the case.
If pilot ame pattern is incorrect, as shown
• turn replace o󰀨 (see To Turn O󰀨 Gas to
Appliance, page 15)
• see Troubleshooting pages 17 through
18.
Notice: Do not mistake orange ames with
yellow tipping. Dirt or other ne particles
enter the replace and burn causing brief
patches of orange ame.
