6.12 Assigning Attributes
Machining attributes – Contour milling
The attribute defines the contour milling operation and the associated
machining parameters for the selected figure or for a “free” open or
closed contour.
Assign the “Contour milling” machining attribute:
U Select “Attribute > Machining attribute > Mill > Contour milling” in
the finished part menu.
U Select the contour to be milled. TURN PLUS opens the “Contour
milling” dialog box.
U Define the milling parameters.
Parameters
Q Cutter position
 Contour: Milling center on the contour
 For closed contours:
 Inside (milling)
 Outside (milling)
 For open contours:
 Left of the contour (in machining direction)
 Right of the contour (in machining direction)
H Cutting direction
 0: Up-cut milling
 1: Climb milling
D Milling diameter for selecting suitable tool.
K Retraction plane. Cutter position before/after milling (lateral
surface: diameter).
