DESCRIPTION: Henry #869 Elastomeric Aluminum Roof Coating is a premium, non-asbestos, highly reflec-
t
ive roof coating made with SBS polymers which give the coating its outstanding strength and elastic proper-
ties. It is an excellent top surfacing for new or weathered asphalt surfaces, smooth modified bitumen mem-
branes, and metal roofs. It is suitable for commercial, institutional and industrial applications. Its highly reflec-
t
ive properties will extend roof life expectancy by retarding the adverse effects of solar radiation and reducing
roof surface temperatures. Henry #869 Elastomeric Aluminum Roof Coating also reduces interior building
temperatures.

SES: Henry #869 Elastomeric Aluminum Roof Coating is a superior roof coating specifically designed for
application over smooth surfaced asphalt built-up roofs, modified bituminous membranes or metal roofs in
a
ccordance with Henry published specifications and data sheets. Henry #869 Elastomeric Aluminum Roof

oating can be used over new roofs, or to renew and extend the performance of existing roofs. It is formulat-
ed to resist ponding water.

URFACE PREPARATION: The surface to which the Henry #869 Elastomeric Aluminum Roof Coating is to
b
e applied must be clean, smooth, dry and free of any dust, oils or debris or other elements which would inter-
fere with proper adhesion. A prime coat is not recommended.

arefully inspect area to be coated, including around pipes, chimneys, equipment, roof edges and walls.
Repair all cracks, breaks, splits and holes by embedding polyester fabric or open mesh glass fabric between

applied over and at least 2
inches beyond repair. Allow mastic to cure 30 days before coating to avoid discoloration. Note: Henry #869 is
not designed to seal leaks!
APPLICATION: Henry #869 Elastomeric Aluminum Roof Coating can be applied with a soft bristled brush,
heavy napped roller or commercial grade spray equipment designed for use with solvent based coatings and

quipped with solvent resistant Vyton-Type rubber seals. Stir coating thoroughly using mechanical mixer. Apply
liberally in one direction only. Do not lap. Over-working interferes with leafing action of aluminum. Henry #869

lastomeric Aluminum Roof Coating can be applied in temperatures ranging from 40°F to 100°F.
IMPORTANT: Henry #869 Elastomeric Aluminum Roof Coating must be stirred thoroughly before
application.

As roof
slope increases, coverage should be reduced to prevent runoff or slippage.
PRECAUTIONS: Do not heat container or store at temperatures greater than 110°F. When transporting this
p
roduct, be sure the pail is secured and the lid is tight. Do not allow pail to tumble as this may loosen the lid
and allow leakage to occur. Do not apply if there is a threat of rain or dew within 24-48 hours. This coating is
not recommended over gravel, rubber or PVC sheet roofing, shingles of any kind, or old roofs that are too dry
a
nd brittle to withstand the shrinkage stresses that occur after the application of any coating.
CLEAN-UP: Equipment can be cleaned with kerosene or mineral spirits. Use care when handling
solvents.

reater than 110°F. CLOSE AIR INTAKES until solvents dissipate. Contains volatile solvents that might conta-
minate potable water. Close container after each use. Dispose of container and unused contents in accordance
with Local, State and Federal regulations.
DANGER! HARMFUL OR FATAL IF SWALLOWED
If swallowed, do not induce vomiting. CALL PHYSICIAN IMMEDIATELY! Use protective measures to avoid con-
tact with eyes and skin. In case of eye contact, open eyelids wide and flush immediately with plenty of water
for at least 15 minutes. In case of accidental injection by power spray equipment, GET MEDICAL ATTENTION
IMMEDIATELY!
USE ONLY WITH ADEQUATE VENTILATION!
Avoid breathing of vapor. If you experience eye watering, headaches or dizziness, leave area or increase fresh
air or wear respirator (NIOSH/MSHA TC 23C or equal). Repeated and prolonged occupational overexposure to
solvent vapor may cause permanent brain and nervous system damage, and may cause liver or kidney
damage.
KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
WARNING: This product contains detectable amounts of chemicals known to the State of California to cause
cancer, or birth defects or other reproductive harm.
EMPLOYERS should obtain a copy of the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) from your supplier or direct-
ly from Henry at the toll free number or website below.
NOTE: This coating, like all asphalt-based products, forms a small amount of water soluble material as it
weathers. Normally this is not noticeable because the rain washes it away. However, roofs having a pitch less
than 1/2" per foot, or ones having poor drainage, will accentuate the problem by allowing water to stand in low
spots, thus concentrating the water soluble material. If there is no rainfall, hose these roofs off to remove the
water solubles. Frequent inspection of these roofs is recommended because abnormally rapid deterioration of
any roofing material may occur where water stands for long periods.
LIMITED WARRANTY: We, the manufacturer, warrant our products to be free of defects in material and work-
manship. The statements on this label are intended to provide a guide for approved uses and application prac-
tices. As Factors which affect the results obtained from this product - including weather, equipment utilized,
construction and other variables - are all beyond the manufacturer's control, we warrant only that the materi-
al herein conforms to our product specifications. Under this warranty we will replace at no charge any product
proved to be defective within 12 months of manufacture, provided it has been applied in accordance with our
written directions for uses we recommended as suitable for this product. This warranty is in lieu of any other
warranties expressed or implied (including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particu-
lar use), and we, the manufacturer, shall have no further liability of any kind including liability for conse-
quential or incidental damages resulting from any defects or any delays caused by replacement or
otherwise.
