SPECIFIC APPLICATIONS*
Base Hit II works on ferrous and non-ferrous hydronic systems:
baseboard, radiant, fin tube, mains, risers, convectors, fan/coil units,
chillers, pavement de-icers and boilers.
PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
Specific Gravity: 1.08
Solubility in water: Miscible in water.
Boiling point: 212°F
Appearance/color/odor: Bluish-green colored liquid. Wintergreen oil
odor.
WARNINGS OR CAUTIONS
• Read all cautions and directions carefully before using this product.
• This product is not classified as hazardous in accordance with
OSHA 1910.1200.
DIRECTIONS FOR USE
SHAKE WELL BEFORE USE. Use one 12-oz. container in systems
containing up to 30 gals. of water. On larger systems use one 12-oz.
container for every 30 gallons.
ON NEW INSTALLATIONS: Pour into system when filling.
ON OLDER SYSTEMS: Shut down boiler and turn off the water
feed. Remove safety valve. Shake container and pour BASE HIT II
into boiler. Depending on the size of the system, remove an appropri-
ate amount of water from the system. For every 12 oz. container
used, there should be 30 gallons of water in the system. Replace
safety valve, open the feed and resume normal operations. Follow
the same procedure for chilled water systems. DO NOT DRAIN. Any
remaining BASE HIT II left in system gives continuing protection.
If applied in off-season, operate circulator for 1/2 - 1 hour to disperse
material.
Note: The characteristic blue color indicates Base Hit II is working in
the system. On repeat applications do not exceed recommended
dosage in system.
