3.12. Protection software for your eCAFÉ™
If you often connect to the Internet and use your eCAFÉ™ to download games, programs and music,
your system is exposed to the risk of malicious applications, such as viruses. These applications are
able to spread to other systems via the emails you send to your friends, and can alter your system's
settings and corrupt it.
You can install the Avast! Antivirus Family Edition program on your eCAFÉ™. This program will
analyse suspect files and remove the ones that present a risk for your system, thus increasing your
netbook’s security.
Your eCAFÉ™ is delivered without any antivirus already installed. We recommend that you run
the installation for the Avast! Antivirus Family Edition, available on the top right-hand of the Desktop,
or download the antivirus software of your choice.
To start installing Avast! Antivirus Family Edition:
- Double-click on the Avast! Antivirus Family Edition
icon on the Windows Desktop.
- Follow the instructions displayed on the screen.
For more information on Avast! Antivirus Family Edition, go to the website at www.avast.com. When the
installation is complete, you can delete the setup icon – which will not uninstall the antivirus – so as to
create more space on the Desktop.
