THE INSTRUCTIONS HEREIN SHOULD BE PERFORMED BY A QUALIFIED SERVICE TECHNICIAN.

THE SIDE BURNER MUST BE COMPLETELY COOL AND THE PREVIOUS GAS SOURCE MUST BE

SHUT OFF OR REMOVED BEFORE ATTEMPTING GAS CONVERSION. SHUT OFF OR REMOVE GAS

SUPPLY TO THE APPLIANCE PRIOR TO DISCONNECTING THE ELECTRICAL POWER.

Some parts inside your side burner have sharp edges. Care must be taken when handling the various

components to avoid personal injury. Wear gloves when handling.

Flammable Gas - disconnect all propane or natural gas supplies to this

unit before servicing.

Electrical Parts & Components – disconnect all power supplies and

batteries before servicing.

BURNER TO REDUCE THE RISK OF FIRE, BURN HAZARD, OR OTHER INJURY. KEEP

THIS MANUAL FOR FUTURE REFERENCE.

This conversion kit shall be installed by a qualified service agency in accordance with the manu-

facturer’s instructions and all applicable codes and requirements of the authority having jurisdiction.

If the information in these instructions is not followed exactly, a fire, explosion or production

of carbon monoxide may result causing property damage, personal injury or loss of life. The

qualified service agency is responsible for the proper installation of this kit. The installation is not

proper and complete until the operation of the converted appliance is checked as specified in the

manufacturer’s instructions supplied with this kit.

Phillips screwdriver

Pipe wrench or large slip-joint pliers

Thread sealant

9/32” OR 7mm deep socket wrench or nut driver

DANGER

If you smell gas:

1. Shut off gas to the appliance.

2. Extinguish any open flame.

3. Open lid.

4. If odor continues, keep away from the

appliance and immediately call your gas

supplier or your fire department.

DANGER

1. Do not store or use gasoline or other

flammable liquids or vapors in the

vicinity of this or any other appliance.

2. An LP cylinder not connected for use

shall not be stored in the vicinity of this

or any other appliance.

CHANGING ORIFICES 1. Remove the grate cover, grate, burner cap(s), and drip tray from the side burner. Remove the control knob(s) and the 4 Phillips head screws securing the control panel to the side burner. Carefully tilt down the control panel and pull off the connectors to the light switch. Remove the control panel and set aside. EN 2.

CHANGING ORIFICES (continued) 3. Use a nut driver or deep socket wrench (9/32” or 7 mm) to remove the two orifices from the orifice holder. Install the new orifices and remount the burner base in the same manner it was removed. Repeat this process for the secondary burner if applicable. Consult the table on pg. 5 for identification of orifices. The sizes are stamped on the orifice.

CHANGING REGULATORS (continued) REGULATOR TYPES Shown below are the two types of regulators used on Hestan outdoor appliances. Your conversion kit (AGBCK-NG or AGBCK-LP) comes with the appropriate regulator for the fuel type you are converting to. EN Remove your existing regulator by using a pipe wrench and other tools as required.

TESTING & ADJUSTMENT (continued) TO TEST • • • • • • • Make sure all control valves are in the “OFF” position. Apply the soap solution described above to all fittings. Turn the gas supply on. Check all connections from the supply line, or LP cylinder up to and including the manifold pipe assembly. Soap bubbles will appear where a leak is present. If a leak is present, immediately turn off gas supply, tighten any leaking fittings, turn the gas supply back on, and recheck.

CHANGER LES ORIFICES 1. Retirez le couvercle de la grille, la grille, le(s) chapeau(s) du brûleur latéral. Retirez le(s) bouton(s) de commande et les 4 vis cruciformes qui fixent le panneau de commande au brûleur latéral. Inclinez avec précaution le panneau de commande en veillant à ne pas endommager les fils des interrupteurs et de la barre lumineuse. Débranchez les connecteurs des 2 interrupteurs et de la barre lumineuse à ce moment. Retirez le panneau de commande de l’appareil et mettez-le de côté. 2.

CHANGER LES ORIFICES (suite) 3. Utilisez une clé à douille profonde (9/32 po ou 7 mm) pour retirer les deux orifices du porteorifice. Installez les nouveaux orifices et remontez la base du brûleur de la même manière qu’elle a été retirée. Répétez cette procédure pour le brûleur secondaire, le cas échéant. Consultez le tableau à la page 11 pour l’identification des orifices. Les tailles sont marquées sur l’orifice.

CHANGEMENT DE DÉTENDEUR (suite) TYPES DE DÉTENDEUR Vous trouverez ci-dessous deux types de détendeurs utilisés sur les appareils de plein air Hestan. Votre kit de conversion est fourni avec le détendeur approprié pour le type de combustible vers lequel vous effectuez la conversion. Retirez votre détendeur existant à l’aide d’une clé à pipe et d’autres outils, selon vos besoins.

Appliquer de la solution savonneuse décrite plus haut sur tous les raccords. Ouvrir l’arrivée de gaz. Contrôler tous les raccordements depuis la conduite d’alimentation ou la bouteille de GPL jusqu’au tuyau collecteur compris. Des bulles de savon se formeront à l’emplacement d’une fuite.
