Chapter 2 Start Up Device
2.1 Acvate the Device
You can acvate the recorder via the SADP soware, the Web, the client soware or the local
menu.
Cauon
• If you want to
acvate the device via the SADP soware, the Web or the iVMS-4200 client
soware, make sure that the device and your computer are in the same network segment.
•
• If you want to acvate the recorder via the local menu, you must connect the device to an
external monitor.
2.1.1 Default Informaon
The default seng of the recorder is as follows:
• Default IP: 192.168.1.64.
• Default user name: admin.

For the rst-me access, you need to acvate the recorder by seng an admin password. No
operaon is allowed before acvaon.

via Local Menu
You can acvate the recorder via the local menu when it's connected to an external monitor.
Steps
1. Enter the same password in Password and Conrm Password.
Note
We highly recommend you to create a strong password of your own choosing (using a minimum
of 8 characters, including at least three kinds of following categories: upper case leers, lower
case leers, numbers, and special characters) in order to increase the security of your product.
And we recommend you reset your password regularly, especially in the high security system,
reseng the password monthly or weekly can beer protect your product.
2. Click OK.
