Installation:
All LD4S series clutches are loose assemblies and need to be assembled
properly to allow the clutch to operate safely. These steps need to be
followed to ensure proper installation.
1. Verify the size of the engine crankshaft.
2. Oil the clutch bushing using lightweight oil. (Any non synthetic oil)
3. Slide the clutch on the engine crankshaft.
4. Install a bolt and washer on the end of the engine crankshaft. Use a washer that
measures at least 1 1/16” inches on the outside diameter. On this LD4S-“L” long bushing
series clutch there is a retaining ring to retain the bronze bearing in the sprocket drum.
A bolt and washer are used to retain the hub on the crankshaft. Make sure that the
bronze bushing has a minimum of 1/32” inch of movement on the crankshaft of the
engine, and not more than 1/16”.
