3.5 ATC
The product is equipped with the ATC (Active Torque Control) quick-acting electronic cut-out.
If the accessory tool sticks or stalls, the product will suddenly pivot about its own axis in the opposite direction.
ATC detects this sudden pivoting movement of the product and switches the product off immediately.
For ATC to function correctly, the product must be free to pivot.
After an ATC cut-out, switch the product off and then on again.
3.6 Motor protection function
The motor protection function monitors current consumption and motor temperature and prevents the
product from overheating.
If the motor is overloaded through application of excessive working pressure, the product’s performance
drops noticeably or it might stall completely.
If the power tool stalls or slows significantly due to overloading, release the pressure applied to the
product and then allow it to run under no load for approx. 30 seconds.
3.7 Integrated brake
The integrated brake reduces the time it takes until the accessory tool stops rotating after switching off.
This functions correctly only as long as the product is supplied with electric current.
Braking time varies, depending on the selected accessory tool.
3.8 Front cover 2
Use the standard guard with front cover for the applications listed below:
• Grinding with straight grinding discs
• Cutting with cut-off wheels
3.9 DC-EX 125/5" C compact dust hood for cutting (accessory) 3
When cutting mineral materials with diamond cut-off wheels, use the DC-EX 125/5" C compact hood.
Use of this guard for working on metal is not permissible.
3.10 DC-EX 125/5"M dust hood for cutting (accessory) 4
The power tool must be equipped with a dust hood when mineral materials are cut or slit with diamond cut-
off wheels.
CAUTION Use of this hood for working on metal is prohibited.
3.11 DG-EX 125/5" dust hood for grinding (accessory) 5
The grinding system is suitable only for occasional use with diamond cup wheels for grinding mineral
materials.
Use of this guard for working on metal is not permissible.
4 Consumables
Use only synthetic-resin-bonded, fiber-reinforced wheels with a maximum Ø of 5″ (125 mm) approved for a
rotational speed of at least 11000 rpm and a peripheral speed of 262 ft⁄s (80 m/s).
Maximum permissible wheel thickness is 1⁄4" (7 mm).
