Subject: Hilti HSL4 as a replacement to Hilti HSL-3
The Hilti HSL4 heavy-duty sleeve anchor is a product that was recently introduced. The HSL4 is
supported by an evaluation report from ICC-ES, ESR-4386, based on testing per ACI 355.2 and ICC-ES
AC193.
The technical design data (i.e. tension and shear loads) contained within ESR-4386 is equivalent to the
technical design data for the other heavy-duty sleeve anchor from Hilti, the Hilti HSL-3. The HSL-3 is
supported by ESR-1545. However, some installation parameters are different between the HSL4 and
HSL-3, such as the installation torque. Please refer the Instructions For Use (IFU) that is in the product
packaging when installing the HSL4.
